One often comes across 3 or more people in an interview board each making their own assessment of the interviewee on pre-determined parameters and each given a chance to ask questions to determine his/her knowledge, interests and personality traits. However, the duration of the interview varies from candidate to candidate. Many believe that longer the interview greater the chance of success. This is not true always. However, ultra-short interviews could mean something went terribly wrong. The first 2-3 minutes are often the critical time when the interview board decides there's no point going further. This is the 'period of rejection'. From here on begins the 'period of selection'. It's important to get past that critical stage of rejection. Factors responsible are many and it's important to recognize these. Impact GDPI helps you to appreciate the dynamics of the interview so that you do everything right and cross the final hurdle. It's GD/PI time for students who are seeking admission to prestigeous Colleges after passing their 12th Board Exams. Admission to Law (CLAT), BBA and Private Engineering Colleges among many others require students to appear for GD/PI and there's significant weightage given to this screening process. Success cannot be taken for granted after qualifying in the written examination. However, success is easy if one is prepared for this crucial stage of the selection process. Educational institutions aiming at 100% placement with high average salaries need to ensure that students have what it takes to bag the best jobs in campus placements. Selection in campus placements goes beyond academic brilliance. A good mix of academics, communication and inter-personal skills, leadership and enterprise are highly preferred by employers rather than just a good academic score. Colleges want to also ensure some of these are already present in students at the time of joining College. Do you have these in you? No? Doesn't matter as long as you acknowledge your weakness (it's not just about confidence and smartness). You will have 3-5 years in College to develop yourself but the first challenge is to get admission by clearing GD/PI.
