HR and OB society replays the journeys of their Society Gems! Hear out how they lifted the heights of the society which crafted new learning pages in their professional journeys!

Here we present our fifth tale of ‘Reminiscence’ - Inderpreet Singh Narang, President HRsoc 2013-14.

“I joined HRSoc as an Associate Member because of the invaluable positive impact that I could make on various facets of students' lives and this further motivated me to go on to become the President. My journey with the society has been beautiful with a fair share of challenges which we successfully overcame, and I am very grateful to the constant support from my senior team.

One of the initiatives by my team which I am really proud of and it also happens to be my fondest memory with the society, is the alum outreach program that we started. We reached out to more than 400 high-profile alums in and around Delhi NCR region and got them on board to help with the students' placement preparation. The response that we received and the positive difference we could make has been truly overwhelming.
Interacting with so many people, being their confidante, and witnessing and shaping so many stories has been an extremely humbling experience for me. It was a period of discovery of self, of the people around me and of the role of human and organisational behaviour in tranformative journey of an MBA student's life. All these learnings have helped me immensely in my career and shape the person I am today.

I regularly look to apply some of the good pratices in my current role as an Implementation Manager with a UK firm, Torstone Technology, implementing a trade back office platform for Investment Banks across the globe. My experience with the HR & OB Society is something I will always cherish.

HR and OB society replays the journeys of their Society Gems! Hear out how they lifted the heights of the society which crafted new learning pages in their professional journeys!

Here we present our forth tale of ‘Reminiscence’ - Satwinder Singh, HRsoc 2012-13

“I joined HR Soc as an Associate Member during my first year, and got to participate in many
events, including our Flagship event of AntHRopos in Fiesta. We had a pretty good team, and guides, from Satyajit the President, and other Executive Members who ensured that we could balance between academics, extracurriculars and projects in an appropriate manner. ride. I was elected as President later on, and I am humbled by the love and support given by all the batchmates, juniors and Faculty Members.

The MSA meetings, the preparation work for the Summer Placements, the Mentorship programme, and interacting with so many bright minds, all made for a fantastic experience. I can’t help but feel a tinge of nostalgia down the memory lane.

Successfully running AntHRopos and getting participation from hundreds of students across all the Major Bschools in India, and carrying on the Legacy of HRegatta, our annual magazine, both of which continue strongly to this day. We have also shown that FMS does not lag behind any other campus in terms of its HR Competence.

From my first job in BASF, a German MNC, where I handled Compensation/Benefits and Factory HR, to my latest stint of working with an I.T. Startup as an HR Business Partner, the basic principles I learnt as an HR Soc member stand to this day. Reach out to all your stakeholders, whether it be Faculty Members, Students, Alums, Industry Professionals or any other, you will always learn from all of them.
Patience and empathy will take you a long way ahead in your career and I am lucky that I am amongst the very few FMS Passouts who have managed to make a career in HR out of my choice.”
