Taking forward SRCC's Academia-Industry-Policy Interface

In July 2025, Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) renewed its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the ICLS Academy, Ministry of Corporate Affairs to design and conduct specialised Training Programmes for Officers of the Indian Corporate Law Service (ICLS), Government of India.

ICLS Academy, the sole training institute under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to impart training to the Indian Corporate Law Service (ICLS), had first signed an MoU with Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) in 2019 to conduct specialised Training Programmes for the newly recruited Indian Corporate Law Service (ICLS) officers selected through the Civil Services Examinations (CSE) conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. Under the MoU, Faculty Members of SRCC carefully designed and administered training modules on Accounting, Auditing, Corporate Financing and Valuation Economics of Public Policy, and Financial Derivatives to the Probationary Officers as well as Mid-Career Training Programmes for newly promoted Junior Time Scale (JTS) officers of the ICLS.

Under the renewed MoU, SRCC will continue to offer these Training Programmes over the next five years, deepening engagement in areas including Accounting, Finance, Governance and Taxation.

This MoU is a step towards SRCC's Mission of "enriching local, national and international communities" and strengthening its academia-industry-policy interface.

Taking forward the Vision of SRCC-A College of Global Choice!

In June 2025, Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) through its Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC, SRCC) organised a Two-Day International Conference on “AI for Social Impact: Transforming Business, Healthcare, and Policy for Sustainable Development” in collaboration with the the Thumbay College of Management and AI in Healthcare, Gulf Medical University, Ajman UAE.

The Two-Day International Conference held at Ajman, UAE produced a vibrant discourse and from academia, industry, and public institutions from four continents to explore the role of Artificial Intelligence in driving inclusive and sustainable growth. Thirty-seven institutions participated in the conference.

It was an honor to have received Inaugural addresses (on video) from Shri Om Birla, Hon'ble Speaker, Lok Sabha and Shri Piyush Goyal Hon'ble Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. The event also received congratulatory support from Smt. Rekha Gupta, Hon'ble Chief Minister, Government of NCT of Delhi.

In the course of the conference, twenty-one presentations were made in three technical sessions which covered a series of thematic sessions aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on AI in Education, Healthcare, Social Good, Policy Making, amongst others.

On April 12, 2025 Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) SRCCOfficial celebrated the 2nd Edition of the prestigious Shri Arun Jaitley Memorial Debate (SAJMD).

In memory of Padma Vibhushan Late Shri Arun Jaitley ji (1952-2019), former Union Minister of Finance and Minister of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, the most eminent alumnus of SRCC and one of India’s most respected lawmakers, Shri Ram College of Commerce proudly organises the “Shri Arun Jaitley Memorial Debate”. The multi-stage National Event envisaged as a Debating Tradition, honours the legacy of Late Shri Arun Jaitley ji, one of India’s finest orator and debater, and offers a unique debating platform to showcase the best talent of debaters and budding thought leaders at national level engaging in valuable exchange of ideas and showcases debating at its best.

This year, the 2nd Edition of SAJMD was organised in collaboration with The Debating Society, SRCC and the Hindi Sahitya Sabha SRCC in bilingual mode. The debate saw intense competition with forty teams from prestigious institutions across the country including Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, Delhi Technological University (DTU), St. Stephen's College, Delhi, Lady Shri Ram College For Women and the University of Mysore, amongst several others, competing in multiple rounds for the Winner's Trophies.

The Awards Ceremony for the 2nd Edition was graced by Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Hon'ble Union Minister of Culture and Minister for Tourism, Government of India as the Distinguished Chief Guest and Shri Sanjeev Sanyal, Member, Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister, and eminent alumnus of SRCC. Shri Ajay S. Shriram, Chairman, SRCC Governing Body, delivered the Welcome Address where he highlighted how Shri Arun Jaitley's heart was always with his beloved alma mater-SRCC. Addressing the audience, Shri Sanyal spoke about how instrumental Late Shri Arun Jaitley ji was in taking the nation forward. Shri Shekhawat praised the towering stature of Late Shri Jaitley ji in public and personal life and applauded his immense contributions to India. Prof. Simrit Kaur, Principal, SRCC in her Vote of Thanks, also eulogized Shri Arun Jaitley's contribution to the College and his vital role in taking the Institution to its greatest heights.

Glimpses from the recent Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC)-
George Mason University's International Collaborative Programme 2025 organized by the Office of International Programmes SRCC.

In the month of March 2025, the Office of International Programmes SRCC and George Mason University - Costello College of Business organized a week-long Indo-US Collaborative programme on the theme of "From Local to Global: Understanding India's Business DNA".

During this programme, students and faculty members from the two Institutions, collaborated on cross-cultural exchanges of ideas, projects, and guest lectures, and visits to industrial and historical sites.
