BSW-124: Human Growth, Behaviour and Counselling - Course This course consists of blocks and units which are meticulously and comprehensively explains human growth and development, behavioral theories, developmental stages across the life span, basic psychology, and counselling.

Interaction with Professional Addiction Counselling Delegation from USA.
The School of Social Work, IGNOU hosted 15 member delegation representing addiction counselling professionals headed by Dr. Angela E. Maxwell, President at National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC), USA on April 30, 2024 from 10.30 AM to 1.00 PM at Centre for Online Education (COE), Dr. Radhakrishnan Block, Conference Room, IGNOU, New Delhi.
Dr. Saumya, Director, SOSW gave a welcome address and set the tone for the programme by giving an overview of the School of Social Work and its milestones. Dr. G. Mahesh, Programme Coordinator outlined the purpose and overview of the delegation’s visit. Prof. Nageshwar Rao, Honorable Vice-Chancellor, IGNOU delivered his presidential address and emphasized that these exchanges will facilitate increased learning for both the host professional and for the U.S. delegation and will offer contributions of international understanding at the career and personal levels for all. Dr. Angela E. Maxwell, President, NAADAC and delegation head along with Cynthia Moreno Tuohy, Past President, NAADAC together made a detailed presentation about the organizational function and listed various activities/programmes that are being spearheaded by NAADAC. Concluding special address was delivered by Prof. Satyakam, Pro-Vice Chancellor, IGNOU emphasized on ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ and facilitated the interaction throughout making it more interactive. Dr. N. Ramya, Associate Professor, SOSW gave a vote of thanks. Dr. Sayantani Guin, Associate Professor, SOSW played the master of ceremony role on this occasion. Some of the Schools/Department included School of Social Sciences, Department of Psychology, School of Health Sciences faculty were participated.
