The 2nd Stephen's Annual Quizzing Championship 2015 Dr. Shashi Tharoor's address on the eve of the 2nd edition of SAQC.
Oschter Haws is depicted as a leporid, (Much like a certain looney tune) originating among German Lutherans, he originally played the role of a judge .The custom that he followed was first mentioned in Georg Franck von Franckenau's De ovis paschalibus in 1682. In ancient times, it was widely believed (as by Pliny, Plutarch, Philostratus, and Aelian) that leporids were hermaphrodites. The idea that X could reproduce without loss of virginity led to an association with the Virgin Mary, with X sometimes occurring in illuminated manuscripts and Northern European paintings of the Virgin and Christ Child. This lead to the phenomenon Haws is now known globally for. What am I talking about?
QOTD
Dominic Wilcox has created the world’s first fully functional pair of GPS shoes, called "No Place Like Home" shoes, that will guide the wearer to any destination, no matter where they are in the world. The design of the shoes take the best of traditional craftsmanship and enhance it with a subtle addition of modern technology in the form of embedded GPS in the heel and mini LED lights within the traditional brogue shoe hole perforations.
Interestingly, how does one activate them?

QOTD:
An X worm is an extremely rapidly propagating computer worm that spreads as fast as physically possible, infecting all vulnerable machines on the entire Internet in 15 minutes or less.
The SQL Slammer worm was the first observed example of an X worm. The mechanism of SQL Slammer's spread used a pseudo-random number generator seeded from a system variable to determine which IP addresses to attack next. In spite of deficiencies in its implementation, the randomized attack was highly effective. 90% of all vulnerable machines
were infected within 10 minutes, showing that the original estimate for infection speed was roughly correct. Give X.
There was an edit made to the registration form. The earlier version of the form said that only students from class 10 to class 12 could participate. This has been changed. There are no age restrictions for school teams. All students are welcome to participate.

Question of the Day
According to the developers, the negative portrayal as well as appearance of the Xs is due to a real world epidemic prevalent in 2009, when the games made their debut.
