Grand Farewell & Prize Distribution Function | 12 February 2026
Jamia Senior Secondary School organized a grand Farewell Ceremony cm Prize Distribution Function in the school MPH to honour academic excellence and bid a warm farewell to Class XII students. The event was graced by the Principal, Dr. Mohd Arshad Khan, along with esteemed faculty members Dr. Farha Hiba Parvez, Ms. Shabeena Khan, Ms. Naeem Fatima, Dr. Helal Wasif Moazzam, Dr. Gazala Siddique, and Ms. Shaheen Rashid.
🏆 Students were recognized for outstanding academic performance, achievements, and active participation. NSS certificates were awarded by Dr. Mohd Arshad Khan along with Dr. Zoya Fatima, Mr. Anwar Khursheed, Dr. Saifi Anwar, Ms. Shaneha Tarannum, and Ms. Rahat Jahan to dedicated volunteers.
The farewell segment featured cultural performances by Class XI students and the announcement of Mr. Farewell and Ms. Farewell by Dr. Mohd Arshad Khan, Ms. Shabeena Khan, Ms. Faiza Siddiqui, and Mr. Hayat Alam.
In his inspiring address, Dr. Mohd Arshad Khan congratulated the awardees and extended his best wishes to the outgoing students for a bright and successful future.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Hayat Alam and Ms. Faiza Siddiqui.

Annual Function 2026 | Jamia Senior Secondary School
Dr. M.A. Ansari Auditorium, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi
The Annual Function of Jamia Senior Secondary School was held at the Jamia Millia Islamia campus, where Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Education Sukanta Majumdar addressed the gathering through a video message.
He appreciated Jamia for aligning its curriculum with National Education Policy 2020, integrating value-based education, Indian knowledge systems, skill development, digital literacy, innovation, AI awareness, and entrepreneurship to prepare students for the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. He encouraged students to respect teachers and parents and to “use education not just for personal success, but for national transformation.”
The programme began with a Qur’an recitation and Jamia Tarana, followed by the Annual Report presentation by Dr. Mohd. Arshad Khan, Principal. The report highlighted academic achievements and NSS activities inaugurated last year by Prof. Mazhar Asif, Vice Chancellor, JMI.
Registrar Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi reiterated the Minister’s message, extended best wishes to board aspirants, and praised the dedication of teachers and staff. Vice Chancellor Prof. Mazhar Asif, quoting Bulle Shah, congratulated the school and reaffirmed Jamia’s commitment to NEP 2020, skill-based education, and creating a safe, nurturing environment.
Cultural performances, including a qawwali and Bengali dance, added vibrancy to the event, followed by prize distribution for academic and non-academic achievers. The annual magazine Payam-e-Taleem 2026 was released, printed by Jamia Press under the guidance of Prof. Ahteshamul Haque, Controller of Examinations.
The function was attended by university officials including Chief Proctor Prof. Asad Malik, Dean Students’ Welfare Prof. Neelofer Afzal, Deans, Heads, Directors, Provosts, Principals of Jamia schools, faculty members, staff, and students.
The programme concluded with the National Anthem.

Closing Ceremony – Annual Games & Sports Meet 2026
Jamia Senior Secondary School
The Closing Ceremony of the Annual Games and Sports Meet 2026 of Jamia Senior Secondary School was held with great enthusiasm and dignity under the esteemed Chief Patronage of Prof. Mazhar Asif, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia. The event marked the successful completion of athletic competitions and the Inter-School Cricket Tournament, reflecting the school’s commitment to physical excellence and holistic development.
The occasion was graced by Professor Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi (Registrar, JMI – Chief Guest), Mr. Rihan Khan Suri (Director, Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship), Professor Nafees Ahmad Siddiqui (Director, Games and Sports, JMI), Professor Aslam Khan (School Provost), and Mr. Rashid Khan (Security Advisor, JMI). The Principals of Syed Abid Husain Senior Secondary School, Jamia Girls Senior Secondary School, Jamia Middle School, and Mushir Fatima School were also present.
The Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. Mohd. Arshad Khan, Principal, highlighting the importance of discipline, teamwork, and leadership through sports.
Athletic events included 50m, 100m, 200m races, Long Jump, and Shot Put (Senior & Junior – Boys & Girls).
In the Inter-School Cricket Tournament, 13 teams participated: Cambridge School, Chinmaya School, Blue Bells School, S.S. Niketan, Hansraj School, Suraj Kund International School, Tarun Niketan School, Rawal International School, Hamdard Public School, Tagore International School, G.D. Goenka School, Jamia A, and Jamia B.
The Final was played between Jamia A and Rawal International School, with Rawal International School emerging as Winner and Jamia A as Runner-up.
The event was successfully organized under the guidance of Mr. Adeel Ahmad Sir (Sports Officer), coordinated by Mrs. Amtul Saba (Organising Secretary, Inter-School Cricket Tournament), and the Athletic Meet was conducted by Mr. Rihan Ahmad Sir.

NSS Unit of Jamia Senior Secondary School organizes Clothes Donation Camp
New Delhi, December 23, 2025
The NSS Unit of Jamia Senior Secondary School, Jamia Millia Islamia, organized a Clothes Donation Camp titled “Donate with Dignity” on December 19, 2025 near the Proctor’s Office, JMI under the guidance of Principal Dr. Mohd Arshad Khan and Vice Principal Mr. Qutubuddin. The initiative aimed at collecting clothes for distribution among the needy and underprivileged sections of society.
The camp was inaugurated by Prof. Mazhar Asif, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia, who appreciated the commendable efforts of the school and emphasised the need to organise such humanitarian initiatives on a larger scale to promote social responsibility among students.
Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, Registrar, JMI, also lauded the initiative and encouraged the continuation of community-oriented activities.
The camp was also visited by Prof. Asad Malik, Chief Proctor, JMI. Dr. Waqar Ahmed, University NSS Unit Incharge, attended the programme and appreciated the dedication and enthusiasm of the NSS volunteers.
Clothes were collected from students, teachers, and non-teaching staff by the NSS team led by NSS Incharge Ms. Zoya Fatima, along with Co-Incharges Mr. Khursheed Anwer and Mr. Anwar Saifi. The collected clothes were later distributed among underprivileged communities, ensuring dignity and respect for the beneficiaries.
The NSS Team, Jamia Senior Secondary School, expressed its heartfelt gratitude to all contributors for making the initiative a success and reaffirmed its commitment to promoting values of compassion, kindness, and social responsibility.

Jamia Senior Organises Motivational Lecture on International Day of Persons with Disabilities
Jamia Senior organised a motivational lecture on 3rd December 2025 to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, with the objective of promoting and supporting children with special needs.
The session was conducted by Dr. Suarabh Ray, Assistant Professor at Jamia Millia Islamia, who has specialised in the field of special education. He shared valuable insights and created awareness about the significance of this important day.
This meaningful initiative was taken by Dr. Shaneha Tarannum (TGT Social Worker) and Ms. Shagufta Abbas Khan (PGT Sociology), under the guidance of Dr. Mohd Arshad Khan (Principal) and Mr. Qutubuddin (Vice Principal).
A heartfelt appreciation to everyone involved for making this programme impactful and inspiring.

Jamia Senior Secondary School marked Constitution Day with the Youth Parliament Session 2025–26 held in the MP Hall.
The event was graced by Prof. Mazhar Asif, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, JMI; Prof. Md. Mehtab Alam Rizvi, Registrar, JMI; Prof. Asad Malik, Chief Proctor, JMI; Dr. Mohd. Faijullah Khan, Associate Professor, IASE; Syed Abdul Rashid, Security Advisor, JMI; Dr. Asif Husain, Dean, Alumni Affairs; Prof. Firoz Anwar, Incharge, Building & Construction Department; and Mohammad Nadeem Akhtar, Director, Shikhar NGO.
Other honoured guests included Mrs. Nusrat Jahan, Headmistress, Jamia Middle School; Mrs. Rukhsana Parveen, Headmistress, Mushir Fatima Nursery School; Mrs. Shagufta Shandar, Incharge Principal, Syed Abid Hussain Sr. Sec. School; and Mrs. Anjum Iqbal, Principal, Jamia Girls Sr. Sec. School.
The programme began with Qur’an recitation, followed by a welcome by Dr. Mohd. Arshad Khan, Principal, who presented saplings, mementoes, and shawls. He highlighted the vision behind the Youth Parliament and the importance of the Constitution.
Ms. Syed Saba Rizvi introduced the concept of the Youth Parliament before the House commenced proceedings. Students carried out the full Lok Sabha business with exceptional confidence, including Oath-taking, Obituary Reference, Introduction of Ministers, Question Hour, Adjournment Motion, Calling Attention, Legislative Business, and more.
The dignitaries appreciated the students’ performances. Prof. Md. Mehtab Alam Rizvi praised the initiative and encouraged students to value democratic principles. Prof. Mazhar Asif commended the participants and emphasized the power of knowledge, moral values, and the importance of school education in the NEP framework.
Awards were presented by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor to winners of inter-school competitions, followed by a vote of thanks by Dr. Rizwan Alam and the National Anthem. Lunch was served to all.

Children’s Day Celebration | Baal Mela 2025

Jamia Senior Secondary School celebrated Children’s Day with a vibrant Baal Mela, inaugurated by Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi (Registrar, JMI) and Dr. Satya Prakash Prasad (OSD, JMI), warmly welcomed by Dr. Mohd Arshad Khan along with principals of various Jamia schools.
The event was graced by
Mr. Qutubuddin, Mrs. Nusrat Jahan, Mrs. Rukhsana Parveen, Mrs. Shagufta Shandar, and Mrs. Anjum Iqbal, who oversaw the programme with staff from all participating schools.
Beautiful performances included Quran recitation by Maulana Maqsoodul Hasan, a naat and ghazal by Nafees Ahmad, and a lively poem by Ms. Faiza Siddiqui. The open stage, managed by Dr. Kanchan Bhardwaj and Ms. Faiza Siddiqui, saw enthusiastic participation from students of Jamia Middle School, Jamia Girls Senior Secondary School, Syed Abid Hussain SSS, and Zakir Hussain Memorial Welfare Society, accompanied by Mr. Syed Mohammad Kazim, Ms. Naghma Abbasi, Ms. Huma Khan, Mr. Iqubal Hasan, and Ms. Seema Khan.
Baal Mela stalls—guided by Ms Alishwa Sadaat—featured food, games, crafts, and student-made items from various Jamia schools. Sports events were a big hit, organized by Mrs Amtul Saba, with winners including Ms. Saima Zaheer and Mr. Mohd Safwan.
Chief Guest Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi appreciated the students’ entrepreneurial spirit and assured greater opportunities during Foundation Day.

Jamia Millia Islamia – 105th Foundation Day Exhibition! 🌟
As part of the 105th Foundation Day celebrations and continuing the rich tradition of Talimi Mela, Jamia Senior Secondary School organized a vibrant Exhibition showcasing creativity, innovation, and learning.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Prof. Mazhar Asif, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, and Dr. Neelofar Afzal, Dean, Students’ Welfare, JMI. They visited every stall, interacted with the students, and highly appreciated their innovative ideas. Prof. Mazhar Asif congratulated the staff, in-charges, and Dr. Mohd Arshad Khan, Principal, for successfully organizing such an excellent event. 👏
Highlights of the Exhibition:
Science, Mathematics & Computer Science Departments jointly displayed models on Smart Eco City, Water Harvesting, Renewable Energy, AI & Cybersecurity, and more.
Craft Department showcased three creative stalls under the theme “Craft and Creativity”, featuring eco-art models, DIY decor, paintings, calligraphy, and recycled crafts.
A Free Book Stall offered educational and story books, promoting the joy of reading among students. 📚

Jamia Millia Islamia’s 105th Foundation Day & Talimi Mela Celebration! 🎉
Jamia Millia Islamia marked its 105th Foundation Day alongside the grand Talimi Mela, celebrating the university’s academic and cultural legacy. As part of the festivities, the prestigious Gandhi Trophy Inter-School Competition was hosted by Jamia Senior Secondary School at the Safdar Hashmi Amphitheatre.
The programme began with a soulful Qir’at, followed by a warm welcome by Dr. Mohd Arshad Khan, Principal, Jamia Senior Secondary School. The event was honoured by Mr. Ajay Chaudhary (Special Commissioner of Police), Mr. Khusro Khan (President, RWA Jamia Nagar), and Dr. Mohd Faijullah Khan (Associate Professor, Faculty of Education, JMI).
The distinguished panel of judges included Dr. Arif Mohammad, Dr. Andaleeb (Faculty of Education), Dr. Khalid Mubashshir, and Dr. Makhmoor Sadri (Department of Urdu, JMI).

Competitions such as Ghazal Sarai, Ad-Mad Show, and English Debate witnessed spirited participation from schools including Syed Abid Husain, Zakir Husain, New Horizon, Jamia Girls Senior Secondary, Anglo Arabic, and the host school. 🏆
