How Radar Works (with an easy example):

Imagine playing echo in a big empty room.

Shout — Your voice = Radar Signal

Echo comes back — The wall = Aircraft

Time taken for echo — Tells how far the wall (aircraft) is.

That’s exactly how radar tracks Airplanes!

Real Radar Steps:

Radar Sends a Pulse (Radio waves like your shout)

Pulse Hits Aircraft (Like sound hitting a wall)

Pulse Returns to Radar (Echo effect)

Radar Calculates Distance & Speed (Using time and Doppler effect)

Non-RVSM Airspace:

Vertical Separation = 2000 ft

Flight Levels = FL290, FL310, FL330, FL350, FL370, FL390, FL410
