Urdu Education Board, Delhi has been established by an Act XXI of 1860 of Govt. of India (Societies Registration Act). It is a Minority Educational Institution formed under Article 29 & 30 of Constitution of India for promoting Urdu education across the country. The prime objective of the Board is to extend help and support to the students of the Muslim Minority community and the weaker section of
the society with the especial emphasis on girls education. Urdu Education Board is an autonomous body which is established for development of education under the guidelines of National Education Policy 1986, and Programme of Action 1992, Government of India. Urdu Education Board is also recognized by Govt. Urdu Education Board is running 8th Standard, Secondary and Senior Secondary level courses in Urdu, English and Hindi medium on the pattern of National Institute of Open Schooling (an autonomous organization under Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India), for students of Muslim Minority Community with special emphasis on girls education, rural youth, working men and women, SC/ST, OBC and other disadvantaged persons who could not continue their formal education for some reasons. The Board is also running Diploma in Urdu Teaching Course (UTC) and Diploma in Mass Communication in TV Journalism in Urdu (DMCTJ). Our board is committed to promote and popularize education under Open Schooling Education System also and envisaging a comprehensive Self Instructional Study Materials Delivery System that gives an opportunity to the students to get education without attending daily classes & to provide platform for job oriented Government recognized vocational, professional and technical courses and higher education to all irrespective of age/sex/caste/creed/religion or any sort of social, religious or economic discrimination. Urdu education Board is also making all efforts in modernizing Madarsa education by introducing subjects like English, Science, Maths, Computer, etc.
