दुनिया में कितने गाने हैं?

मैंने एक बार Google से पूछा, "दुनिया में कितने गाने हैं?" मुझे जो जवाब मिला वह दिलचस्प था।

सटीक संख्या देना असंभव है, लेकिन अनुमान 82 मिलियन से 200 मिलियन तक है - और संभवतः इससे भी अधिक जब आप दुनिया भर में डिजिटल और भौतिक रिलीज़ दोनों पर विचार करते हैं।

अब, आप सोच रहे होंगे कि मैं इसे क्यों खोज रहा था। एक संगीत शिक्षक के रूप में, मैंने कई शिक्षार्थियों को एक सामान्य जाल में फंसते देखा है। वे केवल गाने याद करके संगीत सीखने की कोशिश करते हैं। जब उन्हें पता चलता है कि उन्होंने सैकड़ों गाने सीखे और बजाए हैं, फिर भी वे हर अनुरोध को पूरा नहीं कर सकते या आत्मविश्वास महसूस नहीं कर सकते, तो वे निराश हो जाते हैं - और अक्सर हार मान लेते हैं। लेकिन सच तो ये है कि विशेषज्ञ संगीत शिक्षक भी दुनिया के सभी गाने गाना या बजाना नहीं जानते हैं।

मेरी राय में, गाने संगीत सीखने के सबसे सरल और सबसे सुलभ तरीकों में से एक हैं। वे एक शानदार शुरुआत हैं। लेकिन अगर आप वास्तव में संगीत के बारे में भावुक हैं, तो गीतों से आगे बढ़ें - वाद्य यंत्रों को सुनें और अपनी समझ को गहरा करने पर काम करें।

याद रखें "संगीत को दूसरों को प्रभावित करने के लिए नहीं, बल्कि खुद को अभिव्यक्त करने के लिए सीखें"।

ऐतिहासिक रूप से, गीत तब संगीत का हिस्सा बन गए जब कवियों, कहानीकारों और कथावाचकों को अपनी रचनाओं को खूबसूरती और यादगार तरीके से आगे बढ़ाने का एक तरीका चाहिए था। लय और माधुर्य ने श्रोताओं के लिए शब्दों को याद रखना आसान बना दिया - कुछ ऐसा जिसका उपयोग हम आज भी बच्चों को कविताएँ सिखाते समय करते हैं।

शोध बताते हैं कि ज़्यादातर लोग गीतों को उनके बोलों के लिए सुनते हैं, अपने सामाजिक, भावनात्मक या व्यक्तिगत अनुभवों से जुड़ाव की तलाश में। खुद से पूछें: क्या आप खुद को खुश करने के लिए गाने सुनते हैं? इसका जवाब शायद हाँ है।

संगीत के छात्रों को मेरी सलाह यह है कि: जबकि गीत मात्र संगीत का एक सहायक उपकरण हैं, संगीत के विभिन्न आयामों को जानने का प्रयास करें। इसके प्रभावों, इसकी भावनात्मक शक्ति और शब्दों के बिना संवाद करने की इसकी क्षमता को समझें। यहीं से असली संगीत विकास शुरू होता है।

This year marks a special milestone in my life, 30 complete years of my journey in music. It is not merely a measure of time, but a celebration of a continuous path woven with melody, rhythm, and emotion.

Three decades ago, when I began my practice, it was simply an attempt to learn. Gradually, that effort transformed into my identity. Over these 30 years, I have not only learned but have also had the privilege of teaching. The journey from being a student to becoming a mentor has been truly inspiring and fulfilling.

In the process of learning and teaching music, every question like, what, when, where, how, and ultimately why has guided me toward deeper understanding:

1. What to learn?
2. When to learn? – Every day, every moment, because music is a lifelong practice.
3. Where to learn? – Not just in classrooms, but through every experience in life.
4. How to learn? – With dedication, and consistent practice.
5. Why to learn? – Because sounds have a huge impact on human life.

Throughout these years, I have connected with hundreds of students through the language of music. Stage performances, workshops, cultural programs, and personal training sessions have enriched this journey immensely.

What makes this milestone even more meaningful is that for nearly 20 years, I have also been sharing these experiences through talks, and conversations.

Today, as I look back at this 30-year journey, I feel both pride and gratitude. This achievement belongs not only to me but also to all the teachers, students, and music lovers who have supported and walked alongside me.

And the journey continues. With renewed enthusiasm and inspiration, the caravan of music moves forward.

I warmly invite you to be part of this celebration of 30 years of musical dedication.
