Early on the morning of May 11 disaster struck us when we lost our beloved Sh. S. K. Shahi, fondly addressed as Shahi Ji, Shahi Sir or Shahi Uncle, to Covid-induced health complications.

Mr. Shahi was the founder Director-General at Centre for Social Responsibility & Leadership (CSRL), a not-for-profit organization. He founded CSRL in 2008 to focus on social upliftment of the youths of the less-privileged section of the society by equipping them to qualify for admissions into premier educational institutions through structured and free residential coaching for 11 months.
Under his visionary leadership, over a period of little more than a decade, CSRL launched more than 20 CSRL Super-30 centres across the country for transforming lives of almost 1000 students every year.

The initiative and the Super 30 model has been well accepted across the country and has been acclaimed widely. Harvard Business School recently wrote a case study on CSRL’s Super 30 initiative and Mr. Shahi was invited to HBS classroom to discuss the case - recognised as one of the most successful CSR projects in India today.

Mr. Shahi also founded Organization Dynamics, an HR-consultancy firm to advise businesses in the area of human resources management. As an avid quizzer and a voracious reader, he was the founder quiz-master of Lead India Quiz, an annual corporate-quiz which had its 19th edition in January 2021.

A TEDx speaker and recipient of many CSR awards, Mr. Shahi worked towards eliminating mediocracy in professional activities. He dedicated this last decade to hunting the best and the brightest young talent wasting in the hinterlands of the country and sending them to the premier engineering and medical institutions. He planned for his services to enable the starry-eyed boy in every village of every state in India to get whatever education she or he dreamt of.

His aura was binding. His excitement and zeal was infectious. He counted among his friends people of all age-groups and from all walks of life. He was a believer in pure intentions and friendship was the asset he depended upon.

We, at CSRL Super-30, are at loss of words to convey the shock and the grief at his sudden and untimely departure.

You will remain in our hearts forever Shahi Sir. Rest in peace our leader.

Born in 2008 in a 2-room office in Defense Colony of Delhi, today our presence is felt from Arunachal and Assam in East to Mumbai in West, from Kashmir in North to Bangalore in South. From IIMs in India to Harvard and Duke University in the US, CSRL Super 30 program is a living testimony of a widely-tested dictum: "Find Purpose, Means Will Follow." Rising from 23 students in 2009-10 to about 1000 in a session today, cannot be a simple linear narrative. In this period, more than 4000 lives of talented underprivileged students and their families have witnessed radical transformation.

CSRL looks forward to blessings and support of all to fight the uncertainties of the future - a world bruised and battered but full of untelenting Hope and Aspiration nurturing of which we have made our mission.
