नियतं कुरु कर्म त्वं कर्म ज्यायो ह्यकर्मणः।
शरीरयात्रापि च ते न प्रसिद्धयेदकर्मणः।।
इस श्लोक में कृष्ण कह रहे हैं कि हे अर्जुन तुम सभी निर्धारित और निश्चित वैदिक काम करते जाओ। व्यक्ति का निष्क्रिय बने रहने से कई गुना अच्छा है उसका कर्म करना। अपने कर्मों का त्याग करने कोई भी व्यक्ति अपना भरण पोषण नहीं कर सकता है। व्यक्ति को कर्म करना ही चाहिए।
