सिद्धगन्धर्वयक्षाद्यैरसुरैरमरैरपि।
सेव्यमाना सदा भूयात् सिद्धिदा सिद्धिदायिनी॥

नवमी के दिन मां दुर्गा के नौवें स्वरूप मां सिद्धिदात्री की पूजा की जाती है। इस दिन को महानवमी और दुर्गा नवमी के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। मां सिद्धिदात्री अष्ट सिद्धियां (अणिमा, महिमा, गरिमा, लघिमा, प्राप्ति, प्राकाम्य, ईशित्व और वशित्व) प्रदान करने वाली हैं। सिद्धिदात्री शोक, रोग एवं भय से मुक्ति भी देती हैं।

Maa Siddhidatri is worshipped on day 9 of Navratri, also known as Maha-navami or Durga-navami. Maa Siddhidatri is known to be the giver of perfection. The Siddhi that she provides is the realisation that only She exists. Half side of Lord Shiva’s body is that of Maa Siddhidatri.

श्वेते वृषे समारूढा श्वेताम्बरधरा शुचिः।
महागौरी शुभं दद्यान्महादेवप्रमोददा॥

नवरात्रों के आठवें दिन माता महागौरी की पूजा होती है। माता हाथों में त्रिशूल और डमरू लिए हुए बैल पर सवार रहती हैं। मां सफेद वस्त्र धारण करती हैं और उनका चेहरा शीतल चंद्रमा की तरह हमेशा चमकता रहता है। पौराणिक कथाओं के अनुसार अपने पार्वती रूप में महागौरी ने भगवान् शिव को पति रूप में प्राप्त करने के लिये बड़ी कठोर तपस्या की थी।

Maa Mahagauri is worshipped on day 8 of Navratri, also known as Maha-ashtami or Durga-ashtami. Mahagauri is considered to be the most beautiful avatar of Navadurga. It is believed that on this day, Goddess Durga defeated the demon Mahishasura, who symbolises ignorance and ego. She is the provider of wisdom, purity and tranquility.

वामपादोल्लसल्लोहलताकण्टकभूषणा।
वर्धनमूर्धध्वजा कृष्णा कालरात्रिर्भयङ्करी॥

कालरात्रि माता को देवी दुर्गा के नौ रूपों में से सातवां स्वरूप कहा गया है।कथा है कि शुंभ-निशुंभ और उसकी सेना को देखकर देवी को भयंकर क्रोध आया और इनका वर्ण श्यामल हो गया। इसी श्यामल स्वरूप से देवी कालरात्रि का प्राकट्य हुआ।

Maa Kalaratri, worshipped on day 7 of Navratri, is many times assumed to be Kali though some texts state that there is a difference between the two. She is the fiercest and most violent avatar of Maa Durga and she is the destroyer of all evil and negative energies.Maa Kaalratri rides a donkey and wears a garland of skulls around her neck.She bestows the believer with siddhis and niddhis, namely knowledge, power and wealth.

चन्द्रहासोज्ज्वलकरा शार्दूलवरवाहना।
कात्यायनी शुभं दद्याद्देवी दानवघातिनी।।

नवरात्रि की षष्ठी तिथि देवी कात्यायनी को समर्पित है। इस दिन मां दुर्गा के कात्यायनी स्वरूप की पूजा की जाती है। माता का ये स्वरूप संयम और साधना का प्रतीक है। मां कात्यायनी का स्वरूप चमकीला और तेजमय है। मां कात्यायनी की पूजा करने से भक्तों को आसानी से अर्थ, धर्म, काम और मोक्ष की प्राप्ति होती है।

Mata Katyayani,worshipped on day 6 of Navratri, is the most ferocious form of Maa Durga. She is the slayer of Mahishasura, and the warrior form of Maa Durga who symbolically slays anything bad or evil, adorned with the weapons of Devtas.

Worshipping her is believed to grant devotees courage, protection, and blessings for a harmonious life.

नमामि स्कन्दमातरं स्कन्धधारिणीम्।
समग्रतत्त्वसागरामपारपारगहराम्।।

नवरात्र के पांचवें दिन मां दुर्गा के पंचम स्वरुप मां स्कंदमाता की उपासना की जाती है। स्कंद कुमार कार्तिकेय की माता के कारण इन्हें स्कंदमाता नाम दिया गया है। भगवान स्कंद बालरूप में इनकी गोद में विराजित हैं। हमें एकाग्रभाव से मन को पवित्र रखकर माँ की शरण में आने का प्रयत्न करना चाहिए। इस घोर भवसागर के दुःखों से मुक्ति पाकर मोक्ष का मार्ग सुलभ बनाने का इससे उत्तम उपाय दूसरा नहीं है।

On the 5th Day of Navratri, Devi is worshipped as Skandamata. Skandamata is a symbol of maternal love and represents mother's power and protection. Devotees seek his blessings for the well-being of their children and family. She represents the nurturing and caring aspect of the divine mother. Her worship adds a feeling of maternal warmth and protection to the Navratri celebrations.

सुरासंपूर्णकलशं रुधिराप्लुतमेव च।
दधाना हस्तपद्माभ्यां कूष्माण्डा शुभदास्तु मे ॥

नवरात्र-पूजन के चौथे दिन कूष्माण्डा देवी के स्वरूप की उपासना की जाती है। इनके तेज और प्रकाश से दसों दिशाएँ प्रकाशित हो रही हैं। ब्रह्मांड की सभी वस्तुओं और प्राणियों में अवस्थित तेज इन्हीं की छाया है। माँ की आठ भुजाएँ हैं। अतः ये अष्टभुजा देवी के नाम से भी विख्यात हैं।

On the 4th Day of Navratri, Devi is worshipped as Kushmanda. It is stated that She created the whole universe, which is called Brahmanda by just flashing little bit of her smile.

The mantra associated with Maa Kushmanda is:
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु माँ कूष्माण्डा रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥

Maa Kushmanda holds a rosary in one hand, blessing her devotees with with ashtasiddhis (the eight supernatural powers as elaborated in ancient yoga) and navniddhis (nine different types of wealth).

पिण्डजप्रवरारुढा चण्डकोपास्त्रकैर्युता ।
प्रसादं तनुते मह्यं चन्द्रघण्टेति विश्रुता ॥

नवरात्रि के तीसरे दिन मां चंद्रघंटा की पूजा की जाती है। देवी भागवत पुराण के अनुसार, मां दुर्गा का चंद्रघंटा स्वरूप शांतिदायक और कल्याणकारी है। इसके मस्तक में घंटे के आकार का अर्धचंद्र है। इसी के कारण इन्हें चंद्रघंटा कहा जाता है।

On the 3rd Day of Navratri, Devi is worshipped as Mata Chandraghanta. It is believed that the sound of the moon-bell on her forehead expel all type of evil spirits away from her devotees.

The mantra associated with Maa Chandraghanta is:
वन्दे वाञ्छितलाभाय चन्द्रार्धकृतशेखराम्।
सिंहारूढा चन्द्रघण्टा यशस्विनीम्॥

By her grace, all the sins, distresses, physical sufferings, mental tribulations and ghostly hurdles of the devotees are eradicated.

दधाना करपद्माभ्यामक्षमालाकमण्डलू।
देवी प्रसीदतु मयि ब्रह्मचारिण्यनुत्तमा।।

आज शारदीय नवरात्रि का द्वितीय दिवस है जहाँ हम माता के ब्रह्मचारिणी रुप की उपासना करते है। माँ तपस्या, दृढ़ता और शक्ति की स्वरुपा है, माँ से प्रार्थना है कि प्राणि मात्र के अंदर अपने ब्रह्म ज्योति का संचार करे।

On the 2nd Day of Navratri, Devi is worshipped as Brahmacharini translating to "who pursues sacred sacred religious knowledge or the Brahman".

The mantra associated with Maa Brahmacharini is :
या देवी सर्वभूतेषु माँ ब्रह्मचारिणी रूपेण संस्थिता।
नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नम:।।

Mata Brahmacharini represents the qualitites of penance, utmost devotion and dedication towards the Highest.

वन्दे वांछित लाभाय चन्द्रार्द्वकृत शेखराम।
वृषारूढ़ा शूलधरां शैलपुत्री यशस्विनीम॥

आज से शारदीय नवरात्रि आरंभ हो रही है। सृष्टि की स्वामिनी मॉं शक्ति की उपासना-आराधना के आगामी नौ दिवस आनंद व शुभता से परिपूर्ण हों तथा हम सब के सद्-संकल्पों को गति दें। इस नौ-दिवसीय अनुष्ठान के प्रथम दिवस पर मॉं शैलपुत्री को सादर प्रणाम। देवी मॉं का अनुग्रह आप सबकी समस्त सदिच्छाएँ पूर्ण करे

On the 1st Day Pratipada, Devi is worshipped as Shailaputri translating to "Daughter of the Mountain", highly venerated by people in the mountain states.

The mantra associated with Shailaputri is:
"ॐ देवी शैलपुत्र्यै नमः"
(Om Devi Shailaputryai Namah)
Devotees chant this mantra while offering their prayers and worship.
