“Banks and financial institutions would invest Rs 32.5 trillion in renewable energy by 2030”.

At the 4th RE-Invest Summit, leading renewable energy (RE) developers, manufacturers, banks, and financial institutions committed nearly $386 billion (approx. Rs 32.45 trillion) for RE projects in India by 2030.

India’s goal is to build 500 GW of RE capacity, but commitments total 570 GW.

Key contributors include Reliance Industries (100 GW), NTPC (41.3 GW), and ReNew (40 GW), which also committed to 6 GW in solar manufacturing.

Torrent Power pledged 10 GW, investing Rs 57,000 crore.
In total, 338 GW was committed for solar module manufacturing, 239 GW for cell manufacturing, and 22 GW for wind turbine production, led by Adani New Industries Ltd (3.9 GW) and Suzlon Energy (2.8 GW).

Financial institutions pledged Rs 24.8 trillion to fund RE projects. REC led with Rs 6 trillion, IREDA pledged Rs 5 trillion, and PFC Rs 3 trillion.

Among banks, SBI committed Rs 5 trillion, while PNB pledged Rs 79,000 crore.

Brookfield also committed Rs 54,000 crore as a private investor.
This summit, organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), aims to promote India as a hub for green energy investments.

Andhra Pradesh set a goal of 60 GW of renewable energy by 2030, including 1.5 MMTPA of green hydrogen production.

Bright future for chemical engineers as all these targets cannot be fulfilled without us.

What is the effect of temperature on the liquid liquid solubility?

In general, the solubility of liquids in each other tends to increase with temperature. Increasing temperature usually increases the kinetic energy of the molecules, allowing them to overcome intermolecular forces and mix more easily.

However, there are exceptions to this general trend, and the behavior of specific liquid-liquid systems may vary.

The solubility of liquids in each other tends to increase with temperature for nonpolar liquids, while for polar liquids, the solubility may decrease with temperature.

One notable exception to the general trend of increasing solubility with temperature for nonpolar liquids is the system of water and organic solvents. Water is a polar solvent, while many organic solvents are nonpolar. In this case, the solubility of organic solvents in water typically decreases as temperature increases. This is because the increase in temperature disrupts the hydrogen bonding network in water, making it less favorable for nonpolar molecules to dissolve.

Another exception is the system of carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) and acetone. These two liquids have similar molecular structures and are both nonpolar. However, the solubility of acetone in carbon tetrachloride decreases with increasing temperature. This is due to the fact that acetone molecules are more likely to escape the solvent as temperature rises, leading to a decrease in solubility.

It's important to note that the behavior of liquid-liquid systems can be complex and may not always follow a simple trend. Factors such as molecular interactions, polarity, and specific intermolecular forces can all influence solubility, making it important to consider the unique characteristics of each system when studying their behavior with temperature changes.

In case of type 2 system, sometimes it can happen that by increase in temperature, the miscibility of the solvent increases with the solute but at the same time, it decreases with the carrier liquid. This situation is very favourable for us as in this case when type II system converts to type I system, the region in the equilibrium curve is very huge and wide range of separation can be achieved.

Reverse can also happen but that would not be favourable.

Our aim is to find a solvent whose miscibility increases with solute and decreases with carrier liquid. If possible then its the best scenario but otherwise in general, solvent miscibility with both solute and carrier liquid increases with increase in temperature.
