PRACTICAL BASES OF SAINT LUKA

📌The first step in the professional training of first-year students of the Faculty of Medicine in the specialty "General Medicine" was an educational introductory practice.

📚Students master the theoretical foundations of patient care, study issues of ethics and deontology in medicine, and actively participate in scientific research work.

🌐Teachers of the Department of Internal Diseases Propaedeutics conduct serious advisory work with students on mastering skills and abilities, preparing medical and reporting documentation.

✅consolidating knowledge on indicators, algorithms and interpretation of the results of laboratory and instrumental examination of patients in the diagnosis of major diseases of internal organs. This practice is new not only for our students, who are no longer nurses, but physician assistants, but also for the personnel of industrial bases.

👉Practice under the supervision of the Department of Pediatrics and Childhood Infections (Head of the Department, Professor I.B. Ershova), 5th-year student of the Faculty of Pediatrics Alexander Kugai took an active part in providing assistance with childhood injuries at the Republican Children's Hospital.

❗️The future pediatrician helped in preparing materials (plaster bandages, water, scissors, cotton-gauze pads), in practice he mastered the correct tactics of positioning a child's limb for immobilization, the technique of applying a plaster splint and a circular bandage.

👍The ability to assist and understand the principles of immobilization is a key skill for a pediatrician. Knowledge of the principles of plaster casting helps the pediatrician understand the possibilities and limitations of this method, reasonably refer the child to a traumatologist or adjust the treatment together.

04.09.2025, a working visit of guests took place at Saint Luka Lugansk State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
Our university was visited by:
• Irina Aleksandrovna Kupeeva - Head of the Department for Control over the Implementation of State Programs in the Field of Healthcare (Moscow);
• Tatyana Alekseevna Polinskaya - Head of the Territorial Body of Roszdravnadzor.
• Victoria Vasilievna Rokotyanskaya - Head of the Territorial Body of Roszdravnadzor in the LPR;
• Natalia Aleksandrovna Pashchenko - Minister of Health of the LPR;
• Oleg Aliboevich Valiev - First Deputy Minister of Health of the LPR.

▶️Acting Rector of the University Levchin A.M. together with the university administration, they conducted an introductory tour for the guests, during which they visited:
• Lean Technologies Center (headed by A.A. Aliyeva);
• Accreditation and Simulation Center;
• Department of Social Medicine and Health Economics (headed by Professor A.D. Lugovskov).

On September 16, 2025, as part of an introduction to the subject "Topographic Anatomy and Operative Surgery," I held a seminar entitled "The Historical Contribution of Scientists to the Development of Topographic Anatomy and Operative Surgery" for third-year students of Group 16b majoring in General Medicine.

The students prepared interesting presentations:
▶ ️V.F. Voyno-Yasenetsky (1877–1961) — Russian and Soviet religious figure, surgeon, scientist, and spiritual mentor.

▶ ️N.I. Pirogov (1810–1881) — Russian surgeon, anatomist, founder of the Department of Operative Surgery and Topographic Anatomy, creator of Russian schools of theoretical and military field surgery, and anesthesia.

▶️ V.N. Shevkunenko (1872-1952) - the founder of the theory of individual and anatomical variability.

‼️ We develop skills in analysis, argumentation, independent study, public speaking, and critical thinking.

Active educational activities continue at Saint Luka Medical College. One striking example was a practical lesson on "Human Anatomy and Physiology," held on September 23, 2025, for first -year students majoring in MBBS.

➕Under the guidance of experienced instructor

students studied the topic "Skeleton Sections. Torso Skeleton." During the lesson, students learned about the structure of the human skeleton, focusing on its sections associated with the torso.

🔬During the lesson, the instructor not only thoroughly explained the theoretical material but also demonstrated anatomical models, allowing students to clearly see the location and structure of the bones of the spine, rib cage, and pelvis.

👉During the practical lesson, the instructor demonstrated a high level of professional competence and methodological mastery, as well as her ability to organize students' thinking.

Teaching Indian Students

🏫Teaching for Indian students in the Department of Medical Biology is conducted by experienced faculty members: Associate Professor T.F. Grechishkina and Associate Professor N.V. Shipilova. Their work is based on a deep understanding of the specific needs of Indian 🇮🇳 Students.

📎The primary goal of the faculty is not simply to present the material, but to make it as accessible and understandable as possible. To achieve this, the faculty employs a comprehensive approach. They strive to convey the material through a clearly structured presentation of each lecture and practical lesson, highlighting key concepts and systematizing the information. Visualization plays a crucial role: detailed diagrams, tables, figures, and modern multimedia presentations are used.

TRADITIONAL NEW YEAR MEET

🎄In anticipation of the New Year holidays, the International Student Affairs Department held a friendly meeting with international students from India, first-year students of the Faculty of General Medicine.

🎄The meeting was attended by: International Student Supervisor, Associate Professor of the Department of Biological Chemistry with a course in Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics, E.A. Blagodarenko, and Head of the Social and Psychological Service, O.A. Borodavkina.
The meeting took place in a warm New Year's atmosphere; the students immersed themselves in the atmosphere of ancient New Year's traditions, gathering together to preserve and share the spirit of the holiday.

🎄The students talked about traditional celebrations, decorations, folk games and amusements, and traditional treats. The event was a true kaleidoscope of cultural customs and centuries-old rituals associated with the New Year!

The results of the creative anatomical competition have been announced!

🔔To commemorate Student's Day 2025, the Department of Human Anatomy organized a creative anatomical competition, "Lumbosacral Plexus," to identify talented young students at the Saint Luka Lugansk State Medical University, part of the Russian Ministry of Healthcare.

✔️Six works were unanimously deemed the most worthy. In a formal setting, at the Academic Council meeting on November 20, 2025, Acting Rector A.M. Levchin presented the awards to the winners.

⭐️First-class diploma – Elvira Lyn', Maksim Bozvanov – third-year students, Faculty of General Medicine.

⭐️Second-class diploma – Diana Levchenko – fourth-year student, Faculty of International Students.
