A NOTE TO EMPLOYERS FROM COMPLUSIVE EMPLOYEES...
As we all knows that the whole world is going through a tough phase, almost everyone is facing the worst nightmare in terms of income. Whether we are happy or not with the situation but everyone is compromising, not being intended to employers have to make harsh decisions same way employees have to make compromise as they are not left with other options.
But no matter how worst the conditions are it doesn't give right to anyone to take advantage of their compulsion. Many have lost their jobs n those who still have jobs they have to work for what they are getting, they're just trying to save their jobs for the survival of their families. Job satisfaction, growth or promotions are just a dream, almost all the employees are thanking God for being employed in such crisis.
But it is been noticed that some of the employers are taking advantage of the helplessness of the employees. They are paying 30-40% of their salaries even less also but they demand to deliver 200-300%, they are not even paying for 9 hours but demanding to work for 11-12 hours. It's like one need 20 sailor to sail a boat but putting 10 on board n demanding them to use their double strength how come it is justified, n cherry on top is your expectations of speedis 250MPH...
Empathy is too much to expect, you are not even showing sympathy instead you don't mind hurting ones dignity by making them realize at least you have a job. You are not giving any single benefit an employee deserve because you can't afford it then how come you can demand extra effort, energy n time on the sake pandemic crisis n if you want it then at least show some gratitude...
If employees have to be grateful that at least they have a job than you also have to be grateful that you have Employees who are standing with you. No matter how big a company is, it can not run its show without committed employees.
Maybe paying full salary package is not possible but keeping your employees happy by giving them some respect, have some empathy n maintain their dignity is more than enough to reimburse the some percentage of salary but taking advantage is not at all ethical. These crisis might remain for an year or two or three but it will be over one day so better earn blessings if you are not able to give bonus, once it will be over you will need a team standing beside you to give you a raise. Except few all employees return gratitude n respect with hard work, extra hours n efforts, they don't mind going extra mile if their work is appreciated in equal ratio of work load, so if you want to reach the right destination then you have to lead your team in right directions in a right way.

WHAT MISTAKES SALON OWNERS DO WHEN IT COMES TO MANAGEMENT...???
After managing salons for more than 16 years I have noticed that managing a salon was never considered as an important professional skill like in any other industry and because of that most of the time salons are managed by inexperienced or less experienced hired hands or owners. When anyone think about opening a new salon they spent money on ambience, tools, instruments and even on the technical staff but when it comes to management part they easily compromise because it is believed that a salon can easily run by without manager or in another words no rocket science is required to manage a salon. Even in five star hotels also who have the provision of giving training at the time of joining they also don’t have any training module for spa & salon department like they have for other departments, even salon management was never covered as a subject in any course meant for salons provided in any institute or in any academic centre expect few.
These days salon is a big industry with a business turnover in crores, more n more people are investing money in this business and with coming time it will be growing on very big scale. This industry also needs proper qualified professionals to run a salon just like any hotel industry or IT industry or engineers or doctors or lawyers because after doctors n lawyers salon officials are the people where customer is directly interacting and shares very personalized information about each other.
Now a days salon services are not only hair cut and barber services, these days science is playing an important part in salon services to acquire the expected results whether it is related to hair, skin, nails or make-up and to manage such skilled environment it is important that the management personnel should also have the proper education and knowledge with experience. It will not only improve the quality of work, it will also increase the productivity n profitability, it will also help in gaining trust which builds a reputation among clients which will give the long lasting stability.
Once an owner or hired hand is having an education or they understand the value of hiring an educated n experienced manager qualified in same criteria then they will be able to manage salon professionally from the very beginning instead of wasting time in learning through trial n error period. No doubt learning through experience is very important but with proper education it will cut down many years of wrong experience and with proper education it is really tough for staff to make manipulate you or taking advantages n neither you can be dominated by their unnecessary demands.
Managing a salon involves deep study of products, service, communication, time management, crisis handling, client relationship, staff management and much more so all the owner or the hired hand should understand the value of right management to run a salon professionally and how to present your staff as skilled professionals so that both of you should get the respect for who you are and what you are providing.
