From research interest to research topic and questions 26/03/2022

Sharing a video that captures my journey during my PhD research from identifying my area of research interest to arriving at research topic and formulating research questions. Often the question we begin with, is an important question emerging from our experiences, our engagements with texts, field, and people. Yet, it is far from being a research question, a research question that is nuanced, and theoretically and methodologically informed. Arriving at research topic, aim and questions, is not the beginning of the research but an important juncture during the course of a research.

From research interest to research topic and questions The video attempts to briefly capture my journey from developing an interest around some concerns to arriving at research topic and questions.

I had prepared a video on thematic analysis (including coding) for interview data (esp. semi-structured interviews) for a course I take on Qualitative Research Methods for MA Education. Since quite a few had written asking for a session on coding, I thought it might be helpful to upload this. Some key resources/references used for preparing this are shared below. Hope you find it useful.
