Chhath Puja is a Hindu Vedic festival celebrated in northern India, especially in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand. The festival begins with the Nahaikai ritual and ends with Suryodaya Arag. Surya, the god of energy and vitality, is worshiped during Chatpuja to promote happiness, prosperity and progress.
The third day of the festival is also known as Sandhya Arghya. Sandhya means evening in Hindi. Therefore, believers provide arag for the setting sun.
