Nurturing Minds, Shaping Futures: An Enriching Seminar on Child-Centric Education
An insightful and enriching seminar was conducted in the Conference Hall of our school, featuring Dr. Ashok Kumar Thakur, Founder of Muni International School, New Delhi, renowned reformer and educationist known for his innovative, child-centric and value-based approach to education.
The session was facilitated by our respected Chairman, Dr. Manoj Sir, and was attended by teachers teaching Classes III to X. It was a highly interactive, engaging and informative session, providing teachers with valuable insights and practical perspectives on transforming the educational experience.
Key Highlights of the Seminar
🔹 Buddy System & Peer Learning
The importance of the Buddy System and Peer Learning was discussed, encouraging collaboration, mutual support, leadership and learning among students.
🔹 School Constitution
The concept of a School Constitution was introduced to nurture responsibility, discipline, ownership, democratic values and a sense of belonging among students.
🔹 Growth Habit
Teachers were encouraged to develop the habit of:
Reviewing the Past – Reflect and learn from experiences.
Evaluating the Present – Understand our current position.
Planning for the Future – Set meaningful goals for continuous improvement.
🔹 Self-Competition
The focus was on encouraging children to compete with themselves rather than with others, motivating them to continuously improve and become better versions of themselves.
🔹 PTM as Gratitude Day
The innovative concept of observing Parent-Teacher Meetings as “Gratitude Day” highlighted the importance of appreciating parents, teachers and students and strengthening the partnership between home and school.
🔹 Child-Centric Education
The session emphasised placing the child at the heart of education, promoting self-directed learning, creativity, exploration, values and holistic development.
The seminar provided a wonderful platform for teachers to reflect, interact, share ideas and gain new perspectives. It was a memorable learning experience that reinforced the belief that education should not be limited to academic achievement but should nurture responsible, confident, compassionate and lifelong learners.
