This is what Shaheen Mistri, CEO, Teach For India had to say about the project our students:
"
To me, the students fo Bab-ul Uloom School have helped set a new bar in what student leadership looks like. By understanding the reality of their community using the ASER survey to determine educational levels, and then by presenting that to the government they show us that children can change their realities, making the world a fundamentally better place to live in."

For those who missed, please read the article for the context and watch the video for the presentation.

Bab-ul Uloom is proud to announce that its V standard students conducted a reading level survey of more than 350 children across three communities in Seelampur spread across 18 schools of classes ranging from III to VIII. In their analysis, they found that only 63 percent students could read second grade Hindi text and only 40 percent could read second grade English text. Please watch the video for complete presentation they made to the National team of ASER, Pratham Education Foundation.

The school is deeply grateful to its students, teachers and its partner organisation Teach For India!

In a Std V class in Seelampur, a densely-crowded community in north-east Delhi, a teacher and his children were discussing the status of education in their community. The teacher talked about how , conducted by the ASER Centre, tells you of the status of education in the country each year.

The children decided to create one such report for their neighborhood! These Std V students surveyed close to 350 students in Std 3-8 in their community and released this report in January.

Meet these children of Bab-Ul-Uloom school and their teacher, who is a Teach For India fellow. Find out the results first hand from them!
