Graphic stories are a great way to help your child in communication and initiation of communication. They come up with their own lines and dailogues to complete their comic strips.
You can also play a game, where you both become the characters of the comic strip and use your imagination to communicate with each other as a comic character and fill up your speech bubbles.

The best way to develop reading habits in our kids is to read ‘With’ them and not just for them. Make it a daily fun time for both, by reading together.

After finishing a short story named ‘The Lonely Firefly’ by Eric Carle, I asked one of my student
“How do you think the Firefly was feeling in the story?”
To which he answered “Happy”,
A little surprised, I asked him again. This time emphasising on the word ‘Lonely’ a bit and he again said “Happy”,
So I asked him the reason he thinks the firefly was happy. And he said,
“BECAUSE THE FIREFLY HAS HIS OWN LIGHT”

A child with special needs, often spends hours being taught how to interact with others.

Why not change the narrative a bit..
Let’s teach others how to interact with them.
