Had exciting interactive discussions at Virtual Exclusive Session on New Cyber Security Directions of Government of India, on 22nd June, 2022, from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm IST organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

With more than 150 attendees, the session provided the right platform for clarifying huge issues and ambiguities about cyber security legal frameworks.

Dr. Pavan Duggal, Advocate, Supreme Court of India addressed the said session and highlighted some of the key legal parameters and strategies that companies need to specifically adopt today, given India’s new cyber security legal frameworks. Dr. Pavan Duggalalso highlighted key elements in terms of legal compliances by corporates under the new mandatory provisions of law.

Mr. Mukul Mathur, Vice President, IBM Security, Asia Pacific gave excellent perspectives from the viewpoint of corporates on how corporate strategies need to be chiseled for ensuring compliances. Thereafter, we had dozens of questions on different aspects of new cyber security legal regime of India which were answered by both Mr. Mukul Mathur and Dr. Pavan Duggal, Advocate, Supreme Court of India.

The key message that emerged from the CII Virtual Session was loud and clear. Good, bad or worse, India’s cyber security legal regulations have arrived and have to be mandatorily complied with by all corporates and other stakeholders, if they do not want themselves to expose to criminal liability.
