The most common mistake with a, an and the are using them incorrectly.
A is used for singular words that begin with vowels or silent "h" (a historic moment).
An is used for singular words that begin with consonant sounds (an honest politician).
The is used for plural words (the historic moments).
The use of these articles can be tricky at first, but once you get it down pat it's easy!

When you're writing words with ing, the spelling rule is to double the "g" if it's before a consonant, but not if it's before a vowel.
So, for example, there's a "d" in "pondering," so you don't need to double the "g." But there's an "e" in "jogging," so you do need to double the "g."

Plural nouns are words that have more than one thing. You can tell a plural noun because it ends in "es."
