As a part of GST reforms, extensive tax-cuts have been introduced to benefit all stakeholders in the school education sector.
Key highlights include:
• GST exemption on stationery and learning materials such as pencils, sharpeners, crayons, exercise books, graph books, maps, charts and erasers
• reduction of GST on toys and bicycles from 12% to 5%
• reduction of GST on school buses (10+ seater) from 28% to 18%.

With these , learning becomes more fun, educational resources and infrastructure become more affordable and accessible.

As part of Janjatiya Gaurav Pakhwara, the Department of School Education and Literacy has launched impactful initiatives to educate students across India about the heroic legacy of Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda, honouring his contributions to India’s freedom struggle and tribal pride. Among these is a special tribute film on Birsa Munda which is now available on PM e-Vidya in Hindi and English.

The Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided a special message in this enlightening film, which also provides a poignant depiction of Birsa Munda's bravery and commitment. This makes his inspiring journey more accessible to the youth.
