Inter-House Zumba Style Aerobics Competition

On 23 July 2026, the school organised an Inter-House Zumba Style Aerobics Competition for students of Classes VI to XII. The event witnessed energetic performances, vibrant music, and enthusiastic participation from all the houses. Every participant showcased excellent coordination, rhythm, confidence, and team spirit, making the competition both enjoyable and inspiring.

Zumba Style Aerobics is a fun and engaging fitness activity that combines dance with aerobic movements. It helps improve physical fitness, coordination, flexibility, stamina, balance, and cardiovascular endurance while encouraging teamwork, discipline, and self-confidence.

The **Herbal Heritage Club** successfully organized an activity on **Making Aloe Vera Moisturizer** for its students. The objective of the activity was to create awareness about the benefits of herbal skincare products and to encourage students to learn simple, natural methods of preparing eco-friendly moisturizers.

The students participated in the activity with great enthusiasm and interest. Under the guidance of their teachers, they learned about the medicinal properties of aloe vera and the step-by-step process of preparing a natural moisturizer using safe and easily available ingredients. The hands-on experience helped them understand the importance of herbal remedies and sustainable living.

The activity was highly interactive and informative. Students actively participated in the preparation process, asked questions, and shared their experiences. They appreciated the usefulness of natural skincare products and gained practical knowledge that they can apply in their daily lives.

*Class VI SST Activity | One-Pager on the Harappan Civilisation**

As part of the chapter **"The Beginning of Indian Civilisation,"** the students of **Class VI** enthusiastically participated in an engaging **One-Pager Activity** conducted in the **SST Lab**.

The activity encouraged students to explore the remarkable features of the **Harappan Civilisation** in a creative and meaningful way. They first planned the layout of their sketch notes on rough sheets and then designed an informative and attractive one-pager featuring a captivating title, a brief introduction, and neatly organised boxes highlighting key aspects such as **Town Planning, Drainage System, Agriculture, Trade, Seals & Script, Art & Craft, Architecture, and Daily Life**. Their work was beautifully enhanced with colourful illustrations, symbols, and creative layouts.

The students participated with great enthusiasm and showcased excellent creativity, research skills, and historical understanding. The activity not only reinforced concepts from the chapter but also nurtured critical thinking, organisation of ideas, artistic expression, and presentation skills.

The vibrant one-pagers reflected the learners' curiosity and appreciation for India's rich cultural heritage. Such experiential learning activities continue to make Social Science interactive, enjoyable, and memorable.

A Day of Music, Drama and Theatre at DPS Dehradun

Delhi Public School, Dehradun hosted a vibrant and enriching theatrical programme on 21st July 2026, welcoming a talented team of theatre artists from Mumbai under the guidance of Ms. Nivedita Baunthiyal.

The team staged the children’s play “Ajab Gajab Paathshala” for students of Classes VI to IX. The play, centred around the extraordinary journey of two students, Krishna and Dev, captivated the audience with its blend of humour, adventure, and meaningful life lessons.

The theatrical presentation not only entertained the students but also introduced them to the fascinating world of drama and theatre. During an interactive session, the artists shared their experiences and highlighted the hard work, discipline, and dedication required in the performing arts. They encouraged students to appreciate theatre as an art form that promotes creativity, confidence, communication, and collaborative learning.

The event served as an excellent platform for students to experience live theatre and understand its role in education and personality development.

Harela Celebrated with Green Spirit at Delhi Public School, Dehradun
Dehradun, July 16, 2026: Delhi Public School, Dehradun celebrated the festival of Harela with great enthusiasm under the aegis of the Eco Club, reaffirming its commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable living.
The programme witnessed the active participation of parents and students, who came together to express their gratitude to Mother Earth by planting saplings on the school campus. As part of the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign, the Government of India's nationwide initiative encouraging every citizen to plant a tree in honour of their mother, participants dedicated saplings as a symbol of love, gratitude, and responsibility towards both motherhood and nature. The plantation drive reflected the collective resolve of the DPS fraternity to protect and preserve the environment for future generations.
The celebration also featured a vibrant cultural programme presented by the students. Through melodious songs, graceful dances, and thematic performances, they highlighted the significance of Harela, the traditional festival of Uttarakhand that marks the onset of the monsoon and underscores the importance of trees, nature, and ecological balance.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Shri B. K. Singh appreciated the enthusiastic participation of parents and students in this meaningful initiative. He emphasized that protecting the environment is a shared responsibility and encouraged everyone to nurture the saplings they planted and adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives. Delhi Public School, Dehradun, organized an Inter-House Short Documentary making Competition on 11 July 2026 in the School Auditorium during the 7th and 8th period for the students of Classes IX–XII. The competition aimed to inspire students to discover and celebrate the remarkable contributions of India's unsung heroes whose sacrifices and achievements have not received the recognition they truly deserve.
All the participants from each house participated enthusiastically. Each house represented by a team of three students. The participants presented thoughtfully researched documentaries on forgotten heroes of India, highlighting their early life, major contributions, challenges, lasting impact on society, and the values they embodied.

On July 11, 2026, the school organized an Inter-House Character Monologue Competition for students of Classes V to VIII. The event provided a vibrant platform for young performers to showcase their confidence, creativity, and acting skills by bringing remarkable characters to life through powerful monologues. Each participant captivated the audience with expressive dialogue delivery, effective voice modulation, convincing body language, and strong stage presence.

Participants were evaluated on a comprehensive set of criteria including Character Portrayal, Expression & Voice Modulation, Confidence, Creativity, Stage Presence, Costume & Presentation, and Overall Impact. The competition reflected the students' imagination, communication skills, and ability to connect with the audience while portraying diverse personalities with conviction.
