The study explores the changes in governance over time, major challenges and issues faced by the town and their sustainability dynamics. 🌊 Empowering Communities for Clean Water! 💧
We recently wrapped up a hands-on Water Quality Training Workshop in Uttarakhand, as part of the IUCN-India Funded project!
🗓️ Date: September 23 to 27, 2024
Location: Dharchula and Sailanigoth
Over four days, 35 participants from seven villages learned the importance of safe drinking water practices and gained practical skills in monitoring water quality using Comprehensive Water Quality Testing (CWQT) kits. Experts from The People Science Institute, Dr. Anil Gautam and Dr. Iqbal Ahmed, guided the sessions with interactive discussions and hands-on exercises.
🌱 Participants are now equipped to test water for pH, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, and more, fostering sustainable practices in their communities!
✨ Key Outcomes:
Enhanced awareness of water quality issues.
Empowered youth and women as community leaders.
Plans for ongoing water quality monitoring three times a year!
