As part of the Harela celebrations, DAV Public School, Defence Colony, Dehradun, organised an exciting Inter-Class Activity
on 15 July 2026 on the theme, “Beverages of Uttarakhand.” The event beautifully blended tradition with creativity, encouraging students to rediscover the rich beverage heritage of Uttarakhand in a refreshing and innovative way.

Students of Class VII enthusiastically prepared colourful, healthy, and flavourful mocktails inspired by traditional beverages of the region. Their creative ideas, attractive presentation, confidence, and excellent communication skills impressed everyone present. Each participant thoughtfully explained the nutritional value and cultural significance of the beverage, making the activity both enjoyable and informative.

The mocktails were evaluated by Ms. Neeta Joshi and Ms. Seema Nandarajog, who assessed every mocktail on the basis of taste, originality, presentation, quality, and relevance to the theme. The judges appreciated the remarkable efforts of the students and encouraged them to continue preserving and promoting Uttarakhand’s rich culinary traditions through innovation.

The activity witnessed enthusiastic participation and a healthy spirit of competition.The First Prize was awarded to Class VII-A, the Second Prize to Class VII-C, the Third Prize to Class VII-D, and the Fourth Prize to Class VII-B, appreciating the commendable efforts and creative presentation of all the participating classes.

Our respected Madam Principal, Mrs. Shalini Samadhiya, appreciated the enthusiastic participation of all the students. She shared that Harela is a beautiful reminder of our responsibility towards the environment, good health, and our cultural roots. She admired the traditional beverages prepared by the students and encouraged them to value local food traditions and adopt healthy eating habits in their daily lives.

The activity ended on a happy note, celebrating creativity, wellness, and the timeless traditions of Uttarakhand. It was a memorable experience that inspired students to take pride in their heritage while embracing new ideas with confidence. This competition was more than just a contest. It encouraged students to value local traditions and share them with the wider world.

The programme began with a warm traditional welcome for our esteemed Chief Guests, Padma Shri Dr. Madhuri Barthwal and Mr. Sudhan Kantura. The ceremonial lamp was lit by our respected Principal, Mrs. Shalini Samadhiya, along with the Chief Guests, filling the atmosphere with positivity, peace, and cultural pride.
In her inspiring address, Padma Shri Dr. Madhuri Barthwal spoke about the rich traditions, folk music, and cultural heritage of Uttarakhand. She encouraged students to take pride in their roots and preserve their culture for future generations. She also reminded everyone that Harela is much more than a festival—it is a celebration of nature, greenery, growth, and our shared responsibility to protect the environment. She motivated the students to plant more trees and become responsible guardians of nature.

The students of Classes III and IV captivated the audience with beautiful folk songs, poems, traditional dances, and meaningful presentations based on the Harela festival. Dressed in colourful traditional attire, they showcased the vibrant culture of Uttarakhand and filled the campus with joy and festive spirit.
The celebration concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, leaving everyone inspired to cherish our cultural heritage, protect nature, and work together towards a greener and brighter future. As the spirit of the festival echoed through the campus, the celebration ended with the words, “*Let us nurture nature and celebrate life

Successful Completion of the Three-Day Capacity Building Programme! 📚

We are delighted to announce the successful conclusion of the Three-Day Capacity Building Programme held at our school from 22nd to 24th June 2026.

Organized with great enthusiasm, this enriching workshop brought together dedicated teachers and Master Trainers from various DAV schools across Uttarakhand including Haridwar, Rudrapur, Kotdwar, Bazpur, and Haldwani. The programme focused on enhancing teaching skills and making classroom learning more engaging, innovative, and impactful.

Over the three days, participants actively engaged in vibrant subject-specific sessions covering Primary Education, Hindi, Sanskrit, Moral Education, Physics, and Physical Education. Through interactive activities such as play-way methods, “Chitra Bole, Kavita Dole”, “Rishte Dil Se”, Pedagogy Tambola, hands-on Physics experiments, and creative Sanskrit grammar sessions, teachers discovered refreshing ways to connect learning with real life and ignite young minds.

The workshop was graced by the inspiring guidance of our Madam Principal, Mrs. Shalini Samadhiya who extended heartfelt gratitude to Padma Shri Dr. Poonam Suri Ji (President, DAV CMC), Dr. Nisha Peshin Ji (Academic Director, DAV Public Schools and Academics), and Mr. P.C. Purohit Ji (Cluster Head, Dehradun Region) for their visionary support in empowering educators.

The programme concluded on a high note with the distribution of certificates to all participants, leaving everyone motivated and equipped with new pedagogical tools to excel in their classrooms.

It's proud moment for Dav dehradun and uttrakhand Sarthak Mamgain won a Gold Medal while representing Uttarakhand at the Cadet National Championship being held in Chandigarhon dated 10-13 June 2026. He clinched Gold 🏅 in this championship -55kg weight category
