Brooklyn School proudly organized the Spell Buzz Competition 2026 on 11th August 2026 for students of Classes 1 to 5, bringing together talented participants from all four houses in an exciting battle of spelling, vocabulary, memory, confidence, and quick thinking.

The competition progressed through five challenging rounds—Spelling Round, Recollect Your Memory (Picture Round), Word Building (Written Round), Buzzer Round, and Rapid Fire Round—each designed to test different linguistic and cognitive skills of the participants.

The competition not only strengthened language skills but also fostered concentration, teamwork, and a love for learning.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 (𝟰𝟬𝘁𝗵) 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

The 40th Inter-Class English Poetry Recitation Competition was organised by the Junior Wing to provide students with a platform to showcase their creativity, confidence, and expressive speaking skills. The event celebrated the magic of poetry and encouraged young minds to explore the limitless world of imagination through meaningful recitations.

The programme was gracefully anchored by the students of Class V, Garvi Behl and Richa Sharma, whose confident and engaging compering kept the audience captivated throughout the event.

The stage was beautifully decorated with colourful posters, inspiring slogans, vibrant artwork, and attractive thematic displays that reflected the spirit of imagination and creativity. Many participants enhanced their performances with creative props, colourful costumes, masks, flowers, butterflies, stars, trees, the sun, the moon, magical keys, birds, and other theme-based accessories, making each presentation lively and memorable.

Students from Nursery to Class V enthusiastically participated in the competition. They were divided into four groups according to their classes and themes:

● Group A (Nursery & LKG): Enchanted Echoes: Tales from the Fairy Garden
● Group B (UKG & Class I): Sunbeams and Whispering Winds: Rhymes of the Great Outdoors
● Group C (Classes II & III): Threads of Togetherness: A Bond of Family and Friendship
● Group D (Classes IV & V): Realm of Reverie: Unleashing the Power of Imagination

The young poets recited a delightful variety of poems, including The Dreamer’s Journey, Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, Butterfly, Butterfly, I See the Moon, Roses Are Red, Row Your Boat, Green Earth, Clean Earth, Save Trees, Nature, Mr. Sun, A Little Seed, I Hear Thunder, Little Bird, The Magic Key, A World Beyond, Together we Belong, Happy Home and Wings of Imagination. Each poem beautifully reflected its respective theme and conveyed valuable messages about dreams, nature, friendship, kindness, imagination, and environmental conservation.

The performances were judged by the respective section teachers on the basis of clarity, expression, confidence, relevance to the theme, and intonation, with each criterion carrying 10 marks.

𝘽𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙡𝙮𝙣 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡 𝙘𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝘿𝙖𝙮 with immense pride, enthusiasm, and patriotic zeal! The event brought together students from across grades to present a vivid celebration of freedom, honoring national heroes and showcasing the country's rich culture.
The celebration began with the solemn Lighting of the Lamp and the Flag Hoisting ceremony conducted by the Principal, Mrs. Manju Grover. Following the hoisting, the School Choir stirred patriotic feelings across the venue by performing cherished patriotic melodies: Sare Jahan Se Acha, Tiranga, and Kadam Kadam. The choir featured vibrant performances by choir members Rudransh Tomar, Nihaal Sarpal, Roma Bakshi, Aarav Godiyal, Aahana Gurung, Aisha Bhatt, Sashvi Chauhan, Aaradhya Vaid, Vedika Thapa, Arpit Singh, Aashvi Rajvanshi, Garima Ahuja, Vaishnavi Arya, Shreyash Kala, Sukant Verma, Pari Chopra, Anushika, Sanshi Agarwal, Aarav Thapa, and Tanmay Shah.
Young learners from Class 2 shared an empowering message during their Slogan Presentation: "Proud to be an Indian; strong united we build a better tomorrow". The Class 2 participants included Mohd Maaz, Viraj Thapa, Atharv Sati, Ayansh Thapa, Aaradhya Thapa, Aksh*t Singh, Vidhi Sood, Anubhi, Amaira Pal, Aaradhya Singh, Amanya Rawal, and Ayansh Singh Chauhan.
Inspirational speeches were delivered in English by Tegbeer Singh (XI Commerce), Ridham Gaur (IX Science), and Tanvi Semwal (Class V), while Hindi speeches were delivered by Aksh*ta Rawat (IX Commerce) and Aaradhya Negi (Class VIII). A captivating English Poem Recitation was delivered by Arpita Nautiyal (Class IV), Vyom Rawat (Class III), Vinayak Sood (Class III), and Ayansh Chauhan (Class II).
The event featured dynamic dance performances representing classical, classical-fusion, and energetic modern genres:
1. Ganesh Vandana (Solo Dance): Performed gracefully by Yashika Kashyap of Class 12.
2. Semi-Classical Mashup: Presented by Class 7 students Rida Akhtar, Kavya Arora, Shreen Khan, Aarohi Binjola, Anshika Thapa, and Ashmita Kohli.
3. Freestyle Dance Performance: High-energy routine performed by Class 11 to iconic tracks like Jayatu Janani, Jai Ho!, and India Wale.
Students portrayed national heroes and freedom fighters through engaging theatrical skits:
• Bhagat Singh Scene: A dramatic reenactment depicting the sacrifice of India's revolutionary freedom fighters, featuring Aditya Rawat (XI Science) / Aditya Rawal as Bhagat Singh, Adi Akhtar (XI Science) as Raj Guru, Rehaan Faruqi (XII Science) as Sukhdev, and Vaibhav Saini (XII Science) as Jailer.
• Captain Vikram Batra Skit: A tribute commemorating the heroic courage of Kargil War hero Captain Vikram Batra, starring Shourya Pant (XI Science) as Captain Vikram Batra, Ish*ta Gurung (XI Science) as Sister / Neighbor, Khushi Negi (XI Science) as Neighbor, and Tejasvi Jakhmola (XI Science) as Mother. The soldiers were played by Shourya Joshi (XI Science), Veer Kant, Viraj, Vansh, Aarav Pant, Sarthik, Aaradhya, and Umar (Class IX Science/Commerce). Additional supporting cast included Aaradhya Yadav (Class VIII), Aarav Pant (Class VIII), Vansh Shah (Class IX), Viraj Tomar (Class IX), and Sarthik Arora (Class VIII).
The day showcased thrilling athletic displays and a grandeur finale:
• Pyramid Formation: Class IX Science and Commerce students created impressive human pyramids demonstrating teamwork, strength, and discipline. Participants included Paavan, Sugandeep, Mohd Umar, Ishwar Kumar Sharma, Mannan Asgar, Sagar Singh, Ekansh Sharma, Abhijay Dhiman, Aadhy Singh, Ridham Gaur, Veer Kant, and Abhiraj Tomar.
• Flag Performance (Class 12): A majestic flag routine performed by senior Class 12 students Aayansh Arora, Nipun Shah, Akshat Pawar, Naman Bhutani, Vaibhav Saini, Jayaditya Dhundara, and Ansh Chauhan.
The celebration concluded on an inspiring note, reminding every attendee of the sacrifices made for independence and the collective duty to build a bright future for the nation.

Students from Brooklyn enthusiastically participated in the INCA Map Quiz 2026, held on Saturday, 8 August 2026, at the Survey of India, Hathibarkala, Dehradun.

The INCA Map Quiz provided an exciting blend of maps, geography, general knowledge, observation and quick thinking. The well-organised competition challenged participants to identify places, locations and geographical features within a limited time, making it both intellectually stimulating and enjoyable.

The event offered our students a wonderful opportunity to put their classroom learning into practice, strengthen their geographical understanding, develop observation skills and work collaboratively under time constraints.

Brooklyn was proudly represented by 13 teams, with three students in each team, comprising students from Classes VIII, IX and X. The competition brought together several reputed schools from across the Dehradun region, including Welham Girls’ School, Wynberg Allen School, RIMC and Oak Grove School, Jharipani, among others.

𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗹𝘆𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹, 𝗗𝗲𝗵𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗻 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝗴𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, 8𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 2026, with great enthusiasm among students . The day offered students a refreshing break from their regular classroom routine and encouraged them to learn through joyful, creative, experiential, and activity-based experiences.

The day began with an engaging session in the Audio-Visual Room, where students watched meaningful moral stories such as Never Tell a Lie and Be Kind, helping them understand the importance of honesty, kindness, and compassion. A variety of indoor activities followed, including vocabulary building, jumbled words, number train, word building, animal identification, Name-Place-Animal-Thing, and Throw the Ring. Senior students also enjoyed board games such as chess, ludo, carrom, tic-tac-toe, and UNO.

The outdoor sessions added energy and excitement to the celebration, with students enthusiastically participating in races, badminton, basketball, football, and skipping. Younger learners also explored their creativity through colouring activities.

The celebration successfully combined moral education, mental stimulation, physical fitness, creativity, teamwork, and joyful learning, making Bagless Day a meaningful and memorable experience for all the students. It truly reflected the spirit of learning beyond books and growing beyond classrooms.
