Bharat Susamachar Samiti

Bal Mahotsav is an inter school/project athletic meet organised for the BSS schools and projects, in order to bring all our schools and projects together. This event allows our children to meet at a common platform to display their athletic abilities and also gives many of them an exposure outside their own environment. Bal Mahotsav 2018 was hosted in KJA Bhagwanpur on the 27th of October. The Managing Director, BSS was the chief guest and the guest of honour was Mrs. Mamta Rakesh, MLA Bhagwanpur. We had 526 participants in total from all the schools and projects, participating in over 52 different athletic/sport event on the day. It was also a joy for us to have 14 students from our project in Khatima represented for the first time in the Mahotsav. The championship trophy was won by KJA Pathri and runners up was shared by KJA Bhagwanpur and KJA Rudraprayag. All participants were recognised with certificates.

BSS as every year was able to conduct a one day medical camp in four of our schools and NTC fro. 29th Oct to 2nd Nov, with a team of doctors from Houston-USA, Ladour Community Hospital, Mussorrie and Christian Medical College, Ludhiana. Their were a total of 8 doctors, 1 physiotherapist, 1 dental hygienist and 5 nurses on the medical team visiting each school. We had 1822 students from across four of our school campuses screened during this camp apart from the students, faculty and staff at NTC. A huge number has benefited from this screening being directed to getting required medical attention. This has been a blessing to the BSS family as it has in the past 5 years.

Founder Chairman of BSS, Uncle C George went to be with the Lord this morning at Mumbai. He served the Lord faithfully for several decades. He headed several organizations including Every Home Crusade and Operation Agape. For some years he has been with his children at Mumbai. Please keep the bereaved family in your prayers.

Four trucks with essential food supplies for six hundred families in remote areas of Uttarkashi affected by cloud-bursts were flagged off by Shri. Suryakant Dhasmana (Vice-President, Uttarakhand PCC) today. Some of our students will take care of the distribution of these supplies to families in remote areas that have been previously surveyed and identified. Pray that it will reach the needy families safely.
