Some artists write songs. Others turn everyday moments into stories you can sing along to. Meet Nikhil Shetty 🎸✨

A Mumbai-based singer-songwriter, Nikhil blends Hindi lyrics with indie pop, R&B, synth pop and rock, bringing together the warmth of Hindustani classical training with modern production. The result? A sound that feels fresh, yet somehow nostalgic. 🎶

His journey has been shaped by intimate gigs at cafés, weddings and small venues—spaces where every song becomes a conversation and every audience feels a little closer. With his charming stage presence, a dash of humour and plenty of vulnerability, Nikhil knows how to make a room feel like it’s his own little gig. 🤍

His songwriting comes from the places that feel the most human—love, loss, happiness, uncertainty and the strange little journey of figuring life out. Casual in language, poetic in thought, and catchy without losing its honesty.

After wrapping up Mashup Xcelerator Cohort 7, Nikhil carries forward a growing catalogue, a growing audience and plenty more stories waiting to become songs.🎵

Some artists make music. Others use it to challenge the room. Sharlaine Menezes has been doing both. 🎤🔥

Goa’s first known female rapper with original music, Sharlaine has spent years breaking stereotypes, commanding stages, and turning lived experiences into powerful stories of identity, confidence, and representation.

From performing at 4 to gracing national platforms, releasing 10+ originals, speaking at TEDx, and building communities through Coastal Jams—she’s never been afraid to take up space. 🌊⚡

Over the course of Mashup Xcelerator Cohort 7, she brought that same energy into a room full of artists, ideas, conversations and possibilities. 🌊✨

The message is clear. The mic is hers. And she’s only getting started. 🎶✨

Some journeys take you away from everything familiar, only to bring you back to what you were meant to do. 🎸✨

Meet Poojitha Maheshappa — a Bangalore-based indie singer-songwriter creating intimate, guitar-led songs about doubt, longing, uncertainty, and figuring things out without a map.

An IIT Kharagpur graduate and former Google engineer, Poojitha walked away from the corporate path to travel, explore, and quite literally step outside the life she thought she was supposed to live. 🎒🌍 Somewhere along the way, between solo travels, strangers-turned-friends and impromptu jam sessions, she found her way back to music.

Though music had always been around—Kannada light classical at home, singing Hindi songs growing up—it was a ukulele bought with her first salary that turned the feeling into something of her own. 🎶

Today, her music is honest, vulnerable and wonderfully close to the bone. Her songs feel less like performances and more like pages from a journal—stories about the things we feel, question and sometimes struggle to say out loud.

Her comeback single “Crossroads” marks the beginning of this new chapter, with more music already on the way. 🌱

And after wrapping Mashup Xcelerator Cohort 7, Poojitha continues doing what she does best: putting the music out there and finding the people who hear themselves in it.

Not fearless. Just brave enough to jump in scared anyway. 💛🎵

Some people work in music. Some people make music. Simran Sharma somehow decided to do both. 🎶✨

A Mumbai-based singer-songwriter, Simran creates music that sits somewhere between vulnerability, healing, love and hope—the kind of songs that feel like a quiet conversation you didn’t know you needed.

Her musical journey began back in 2016, with college performances and competitions that slowly took her from campus stages to bigger ones. Along the way, she explored backing vocals, studied music at the Global Music Institute, and found her way into the world of live performance.

Then came the practical chapter. But instead of leaving music behind, Simran found another way to stay close to it.

Today, she works as a Marketing Associate at TuneCore India, helping independent artists navigate the world of releases and growth—while continuing to quietly build her own identity as an artist. 🎤💻

And after wrapping Mashup Xcelerator Cohort 7, Simran’s own artist journey continues—with more stories to tell, more music to create, and hopefully a lot more reasons to press publish. 🤍🎧

Some artists find their sound. Others keep moving until they discover there are no boundaries to begin with. 🌊🎛️

Meet ZOHA (Juhi Varma) — guitarist, producer and DJ, whose music lives somewhere between organic instrumentation, electronic experimentation and whatever the moment demands. 🎸⚡

When she’s behind the decks, things get even more interesting. House, melodic techno, downtempo, breakbeats, bass-heavy grooves — ZOHA moves through them all, creating immersive sets driven by hypnotic melodies, tribal rhythms and percussion that pulls you onto the dancefloor. 🔊🌌

Her latest chapter, Floating Seaweed, takes that experimentation quite literally — built around a live guitar line and inspired by a freediving experience in Goa. 🌊🎸

Cohort 7 may be wrapped, but for artists like ZOHA, the sound keeps evolving. Here’s to everything she creates next. 🚀

Some musicians play rock. Others build a life around it. Arun Singhal has been doing exactly that for over a decade. 🎸🔥

A guitarist, producer, songwriter and performer with 10+ years of live experience, Arun has spent years turning his love for rock ‘n’ roll into original music, unforgettable performances and full-length records.

With 4 studio albums to his name, including “A Chunk of Rock”, which was featured in Rolling Stone India, Arun brings years of experience across songwriting, production, live performance and band arrangements. 🤘🎶

From the stage to the studio, he’s been through the entire process of making music—and with Mashup Xcelerator Cohort 7, he brought all that experience into a new space of learning, conversations and connections.

Now that the cohort has wrapped, the next chapter begins. More music, bigger stages and plenty more rock ‘n’ roll ahead. ⚡

Cohort 7. 7 artists. 7 journeys. One incredible ride. ✨

And just like that, Mashup Xcelerator Cohort 7 comes to a end. 🤍

From finding their sound and sharpening their vision to understanding the business behind the music, these 7 artists showed up, learned, evolved, questioned, experimented, and most importantly — kept creating.

What started as 7 individual journeys slowly became a community of artists rooting for each other, learning together, and growing beyond the music. 🤝

The cohort may be wrapped, but the journey is only getting started. 🎶

To Cohort 7 — we’re so proud of you. 🫶

We’re thrilled to share that MXP Cohort 7 is powered by .ind as our official Distribution Partner! 🎧✨

Distribution may be the first step in releasing a song into the world, but it’s also one of the most crucial ones — making sure your music reaches the right platforms, the right listeners, and the right opportunities. ⚡️

With TuneCore supporting this journey, our Cohort 7 artists will be better equipped to take their music from creation to release with confidence. Here’s to stronger releases, smarter steps, and many more songs finding their audience. 🚀
