For Gargi Grewal, boarding school once felt like an intimidating idea. But UWS soon changed that narrative, becoming a place where she built unbreakable bonds with her teachers and friends.

From MUNs, business competitions and debates to an exchange program in Denmark, UWS gave her the platform to explore, participate and grow beyond the classroom.

Today, at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, she carries those experiences and connections with her.

The 80th Independence Day was commemorated at Unison World School with dignity, pride and a deep sense of patriotism. The celebration commenced with the flag hoisting by Principal Ms. Supreet Bakshi, followed by the National Anthem, setting a solemn and reverent tone for the occasion.

Through eloquent Hindi and English speeches, our students reflected upon the significance of India’s freedom and the responsibilities that accompany it. In her inspiring address, the Principal reminded the students that while the previous generation carried the responsibility of attaining freedom, the responsibility of preserving, protecting and strengthening it now rests with the present generation.

The occasion also provided an opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate the invaluable contribution of the school’s support staff, whose dedicated service forms an integral part of the UWS community.

More than a commemoration of a historic milestone, the occasion served as a meaningful reminder that freedom is both a cherished legacy and a profound responsibility - one that calls upon each generation to uphold its values and contribute towards a stronger, more harmonious India.

Happy 80th Independence Day 🇮🇳

For Sanvi Lohia, coming back to UWS felt like stepping into a memory she never wanted to leave.

A proud UWS alumna, Sanvi walked us through the wave of nostalgia that hit her the moment she stepped back on campus - reuniting with old friends, meeting all her teachers, and reliving every little moment.

Her visit is a reminder that at UWS, the bonds we build go far beyond the classroom, and coming back home always feels like a big, warm hug.

Unison World School conducted the 15-day STRIKE Self-Defense Training Programme, designed to equip students with practical self-defense skills while fostering confidence, discipline, awareness, and resilience.

Conducted across six batches, each further divided into three teams, the programme ensured focused guidance and meaningful hands-on practice for every participant. Students were trained in a range of essential techniques, including responding to choking situations, escaping various forms of grabs, defending against potential knife attacks, and managing challenging situations with composure and presence of mind.

The training was complemented by interactive team activities and games that strengthened coordination, communication, teamwork, and mutual trust, making the learning experience both purposeful and engaging.

STRIKE served as a valuable opportunity for our students to develop not only the ability to protect themselves, but also the confidence and presence of mind to respond wisely in situations that demand courage and composure.

At Unison World School, we believe that true empowerment comes from being prepared, confident, and capable.
