Eco-Friendly Bookmark Making Activity on Ganesh Chaturthi

On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the Junior Wing of Sunrise Academy, Dehradun organized a delightful Bookmark Making Activity for students of Classes III to V.

The students crafted innovative, eco-friendly bookmarks using yellow popsicle sticks adorned with hand-moulded clay Ganesh faces. The cute little Lord Ganesha, with his bright orange trunk, golden mukut and tilak, beautifully captured the spirit of the festival. The bookmarks were not just artistic but also sustainable and reusable.

The activity aimed to nurture creativity, fine motor skills and love for our culture while promoting the message of eco-friendly celebrations. The vibrant bookmarks, as seen in the lush green background, truly symbolized the freshness and auspiciousness of the festival. The efforts of the tiny tots were highly appreciated by the Principal.

Sunrise Academy hosted a Special Screening Session of the Jagran Film Festival on 19th September 2026, with the inspiring motive of “Good Cinema for Everyone.” The initiative aimed to bring meaningful and thought-provoking cinema closer to the audience while promoting the power of storytelling through films.

The programme was graced by the presence of the Management Members along with the esteemed team from Dainik Jagran, Dehradun Edition. Mr. Mohit Gupta, Chief Manager (Brand Development), Dainik Jagran, Dehradun Edition, along with his team, visited the school and facilitated the special screening.

As part of the session, the film *"Namaste Sir" and “Putul”* was screened for the staff members of Sunrise Academy. The screening provided an opportunity to experience a meaningful cinematic presentation and reflect on the emotions, values, and message conveyed through the film.

The event was a wonderful initiative that combined cinema, creativity, and meaningful storytelling, making it an enriching experience for everyone present. Sunrise Academy extends its gratitude to Dainik Jagran and the Jagran Film Festival team for bringing this special cinematic experience to the school under the vision of “Good Cinema for Everyone.”

Sunrise Academy organised a Hindi Elocution Competition for the students of Classes I to V on 11 September 2026. The competition provided students with a wonderful platform to develop their confidence, pronunciation, expression, and love for the Hindi language. The students recited poems by Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ with great enthusiasm and expression.

To make the competition more engaging, each class was divided into two groups, and each group was given a unique name.

The class-wise presentations and winning groups were:

Class I: Students recited “Matribhumi Ke Liye”. The first group, ‘Shaurveer Sainik’, emerged victorious.

Class II: Students presented “Sangharsh Jaari Hai”. The first group, ‘Swatantrata Ke Sipahi’, won the competition.

Class III: Students recited “Main Hoon Pahad”. The first group, ‘Himalaya Ke Prahari’, secured the winning position.

Class IV: Students presented Dr. Nishank’s poem “Bharat Ki Taqdeer, Utho”. The second group, ‘Bharat Ke Sitare’, emerged victorious.

Class V: Students recited “Tumhare Path Par”. The second group, ‘Safalta Ke Raahi’, won the competition.

The event was a beautiful celebration of Hindi poetry and young talent, as students captivated everyone with their confident voices, expressive recitations, and heartfelt performances. The competition not only nurtured their oratory skills but also deepened their appreciation for the richness of Hindi literature.

Sunrise Academy celebrated Hindi Diwas with great enthusiasm on 14th September 2026 to honour the richness, beauty, and significance of the Hindi language.

The programme commenced with a special presentation by the students of Classes VI and VIII, who presented a meaningful act highlighting the importance of Hindi. Through their performance, the students beautifully conveyed the message that every अक्षर (letter) of Hindi has its own significance and identity.

Adding to the literary charm of the celebration, Saavi Sharma of Class I recited the poem “कृष्ण चेतावनी”, based on an episode from the Mahabharata, written by the renowned Hindi poet Ramdhari Singh ‘Dinkar’. Her confident and expressive recitation was appreciated by everyone.
Following the presentation, the HOD of the Hindi Department Ma'am Monika Sharma addressed the gathering and spoke about the importance of Hindi in our lives. She also shared an inspiring incident related to Swami Vivekananda, highlighting the value of language, culture, and effective communication.

As part of the celebration, a Hindi Essay Writing Competition was also organised for the students of Classes VI to XII, providing them with an opportunity to express their thoughts creatively in Hindi and develop their writing skills.

The celebration was an enriching experience that encouraged students to take pride in Hindi, our rich linguistic and cultural heritage, and understand its relevance in today's world.

On 10th September 2026, a Storytelling Session was organised at Sunrise Academy under the Sanskarshala initiative of Dainik Jagran. The session aimed to engage students with a meaningful and relevant story that reflected the challenges faced by young minds in today’s digital age.

The story highlighted the growing influence of social media and encouraged students not to get carried away by the blind race of comparison and competition. It inspired them to recognise their real personalities, strengths, and individuality and move forward with confidence and self-belief.

Dainik Jagran Dehradun Edition interacted with the students on the topic of “Digital Behaviour.” He discussed the importance of responsible digital habits and advised students to consciously reduce their screen time and use digital platforms wisely.

The programme was an insightful and enriching experience for the students, leaving them with an important message—to stay connected with their real selves while maintaining a healthy and balanced relationship with technology.

Sunrise Academy celebrated Himalaya Diwas on 9th September 2026 with a special assembly conducted by the students of Classes IX and XI. The assembly aimed to spread awareness about the importance of the Himalayas and the need to protect this precious natural heritage.

The programme featured a meaningful act and beautiful poetry presentations by the students, highlighting the beauty, significance, and ecological importance of the Himalayan region.

On the occasion, the Principal Ma’am led all the students in taking an oath to protect and preserve the Himalayas and contribute towards keeping the environment clean and sustainable.

The assembly concluded with an informative address by a teacher, who highlighted the importance of the Himalayas as a source of water, biodiversity, and environmental balance.
The programme inspired students to understand their responsibility towards conserving the Himalayan ecosystem and its natural beauty.

139th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant Ji

Tribute from Sunrise Academy, Dehradun

Today, on his 139th Birth Anniversary, we bow to the son of our Devbhoomi, Bharat Ratna Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant Ji (10 September 1887 - 7 March 1961).

From the hills of Almora to the heart of the nation, his journey is the story of India itself.

A towering freedom fighter, the first Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, the architect of modern Uttarakhand, and the Home Minister who gave India Hindi as its Official Language and reorganized our states - Pandit Ji was not just a leader, he was an institution.

He taught us that true leadership lies in simplicity, courage and selfless service to the nation.

On this day, Sunrise Academy pays heartfelt tribute to this great son of Bharat. Let us inspire our students to follow his ideals of honesty, hard work and love for the motherland.

Uttarakhand is proud of you, India will always remember you.

Sunrise Academy celebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm and gratitude on 5th September 2026 to honour the dedication and invaluable contribution of teachers.

The celebration began with a special morning assembly, where students paid tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan by showering flowers on his photograph then the Class XII students presented a meaningful skit titled “A Teacher Is a Blessing from God,” highlighting the significant role teachers play in shaping the lives of their students. This was followed by a graceful dance performance and an inspiring speech by a student expressing heartfelt gratitude towards the teachers. Adding a personal touch to the celebration, the students presented beautiful cards and gifts to all the teachers as a token of their love, respect, and gratitude.

The first part of the celebration was conducted with the students of Class XII, after which the programme continued in the presence of the Management Dignitaries and teachers. A teacher shared insightful thoughts about the life and contributions of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, reminding everyone of the true significance of Teachers’ Day.
A student then presented a beautiful poem dedicated to teachers, followed by two thought-provoking documentaries.

The occasion also included a felicitation ceremony, during which the 100 percent board result teachers were honoured by the Management Members for their sincere efforts and commitment. Principal Ma’am, Nitu Tomar, Administrative Officer Ma'am Monika Sharma and Ma'am Kamla Bisht were also acknowledged for their valuable contribution to the school community.

The celebration concluded on a warm and appreciative note as the management members presented gifts to every teacher as a token of love and gratitude.

The entire programme was a heartfelt tribute to the educators who continuously inspire, guide, and empower students to become better individuals.
