The five-day Professional Development cm Training Programme on “Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Food Sovereignty,” held from 24/02/2026 to 28/02/2026 on the college campus, was inaugurated by the Director Dr. Sanjay Chaudhary, Asst. Director Dr R R Dwivedi, Principal Dr R G Upahyay, Admin. Coordinator Shri Anuj Singh Rana, IQAC Coordinator R K Mishra, and Vice Principal Dr R K Sharma. The programme was successfully conducted under the leadership & guidance of Dr. Nutan Pant and Dr. Anand Prabha Rawat, aiming to strengthen institutional preparedness, community resilience, and sustainable food systems especially during crisis.
The programme was organized in collaboration with the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority (USDMA). In first three days a series of intensive practical sessions were conducted to provide real-time exposure to emergency response techniques by Mr. Raju Sahi (Master trainer) and his associates Mr Sushil Singh Kaintura and Mr. Mohit Singh .
The practical components covered mock drills and demonstrations on fire safety management, earthquake response, landslide preparedness, and road accident management. Participants were trained in the use of fire extinguishers, safe evacuation procedures, and coordination during emergency situations. A special session on First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) included hands-on training in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), bandaging techniques, bleeding control, and fracture management. Participants actively practiced life-saving skills under expert supervision to ensure confidence and preparedness during critical situations. One of the major highlights of the programme was a live demonstration on rescue operations from high-rise buildings, where participants learned about safe evacuation methods, rope rescue techniques, and coordinated team response during fire or structural emergencies.
During the last two days of the training programme, Ms. Kanchan Bhatt highlighted the importance of promoting traditional, climate-resilient crops to ensure sustainable food systems. Practical sessions included the preparation and demonstration of value-added products from ragi and millets, showcasing their high nutritional value, low water requirements, and adaptability to changing climatic conditions. A session on food adulteration as a social disaster emphasized consumer awareness, ethical food practices, and strict quality control. Throughout the five-day programme, the event was actively supported by Mr. Varun Chauhan, Dr. Bipin Verma, Mr. Sourab Suman, Mr.Gaurav Verma and Mr.Vipin Negi who contributed significantly to its smooth and successful ex*****on.

Doon PG College of Agriculture Science and Technology, Dehradun celebrated the vibrant festival of Lohri on 13 January 2026 with great enthusiasm on campus.Chairman Sir, Principal, Academic Coordinator, Assistant Director, Vice Principal , faculty members, staff and Students gathered around the traditional bonfire to mark the harvest festival and the end of winter.
The celebration reflected the rich cultural heritage of India, with traditional offerings like revri, gajak, peanuts, and popcorn shared among all. The joyful atmosphere promoted unity, cultural awareness, and festive spirit among the college community. The event was a memorable experience, strengthening bonds and celebrating tradition together.

12/01/2026, दून पीजी कॉलेज ऑफ एग्रीकल्चर साइंस एंड टेक्नोलॉजी, सेलाकुई, देहरादून में स्वामी विवेकानंद जयंती (राष्ट्रीय युवा दिवस) बड़े उत्साह के साथ मनायी गई। कार्यक्रम का विषय "राष्ट्रीय युवा दिवस" था, जिसका उप-विषय "स्वदेशी के लिए दौड़" था।
इस अवसर पर दौड़ (मैराथन) का आयोजन किया गया, जिसमें बड़ी संख्या में छात्रों ने सक्रिय रूप से भाग लिया। इस आयोजन का उद्देश्य युवाओं में शारीरिक फिटनेस, राष्ट्रीय गौरव और स्वदेशी के महत्व के प्रति जागरूकता को बढ़ावा देना था।
यह कार्यक्रम प्रधानाचार्य डॉ. प्रो. आर. जी. उपाध्याय, प्रशासनिक समन्वयक श्री अनुज राणा, उप-प्रधानाचार्य डॉ. आर.के. शर्मा, श्री आर.के. मिश्रा, श्री सचिन चौधरी, एनएसएस पोस्ट ऑफिसर श्री वरुण चौहान, डॉ. प्रीति सक्सेना, डॉ. मेघा पवार, श्री मनोज थपलियाल, श्री सौरभ सुमन और श्री कृष्ण कांत सकलानी के पूर्ण सहयोग से सफलतापूर्वक संपन्न हुआ।
प्रथम, द्वितीय और तृतीय स्थान प्राप्त करने वाले छात्रों को उनके प्रदर्शन के आधार पर प्रमाण पत्र और पदक प्रदान किए गए।
