ADDICTION-FREE PLEDGE MEGA CAMPAIGN🚨💐

The Indian Nursing Council conducted a virtual launching programme for the Addiction-Free Pledge Mega Campaign. As part of the campaign, nursing faculty and students actively participated by taking the pledge to promote an addiction-free and healthier society.🧠

A total of 120 students and 18 faculty members from the Nursing and Yoga departments participated in the campaign.

Objectives

1. To create awareness among students and faculty about the harmful effects of addiction on physical, mental, and social health.
2. To encourage students and faculty to take a personal commitment towards an addiction-free lifestyle and motivate others to do the same.
3. To promote a healthy family, a strong society, and a responsible and developed India through collective efforts against addiction.

The campaign successfully encouraged students and faculty to understand the importance of living an addiction-free life. The participants took the pledge with a commitment to contribute towards:

* A healthier life
* A stronger family
* A brighter future
* A developed India

The campaign helped strengthen awareness and responsibility among the participants towards preventing addiction and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Himalayiya College of Nursing, SPARSH Himalaya University observed World Breastfeeding Week 2026 by organizing a guest lecture on 07 August 2026.💐

The session was delivered by *Ms. Annu Panchal* , Associate Professor, OBG Department, DIMS University, on "Breast Cancer and Sustainable Development Goals." She highlighted breast cancer prevention, early detection, and the importance of breastfeeding for maternal and child health.✨

A Training of Trainers (TOT) on breast cancer awareness was also conducted by Ms. Kajal Malik, Assistant Professor, Child Health Nursing Department, and Ms. Akansha Rawat, Nursing Tutor, Himalayiya College of Nursing, SPARSH Himalaya University, for students and faculty members.📍

*Objectives*
▪️To create awareness about breast cancer and its early detection.
▪️To promote the importance of breastfeeding for maternal and child health.
▪️To enhance knowledge through Training of Trainers (TOT) on breast cancer awareness.

*Outcomes*
Improved awareness about breast cancer prevention and early detection.
Enhanced knowledge and skills of students and faculty on breast cancer awareness.
Strengthened understanding of the role of breastfeeding in achieving sustainable development goals.

Sparsh Himalaya University is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ashrita Institute for Waste Management & Research (AIWMR), Hyderabad.💐

This collaboration will introduce the Certificate Course in Environment & Waste Management (CEWM), an industry-oriented online certification programme focusing on sustainability, circular economy, resource management, climate solutions, and waste management practices.💐

Himalayiya College of Nursing observed World Breastfeeding Week 2026 on 04 August 2026. The programme was organized by the Child Health Nursing and OBG Department to create awareness about the importance of breastfeeding and its significant benefits for both the mother and the baby.
Total 24 antenatal and postnatal mother take the benefit of the session .

As part of the programme, a health education and counselling session was conducted focusing on the promotion of breastfeeding, its benefits, proper breastfeeding practices, and the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for the healthy growth and development of the newborn.

*Objectives*

1. To educate mothers and students about the importance and benefits of breastfeeding for both the baby and the mother.
2. To promote awareness regarding appropriate breastfeeding practices and encourage exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life.

*Outcomes*

- Participants gained knowledge about the importance and benefits of breastfeeding.
- Awareness regarding exclusive breastfeeding and appropriate breastfeeding practices was enhanced.
- Participants understood the health benefits of breastfeeding for both mother and baby.
- The session encouraged positive attitudes towards breastfeeding and its promotion.

Nursing and BNYS faculty members, along with students, distributed ORS packets and hydrating Sarbat to community members and created awareness about the importance of hydration and the proper use of ORS.💐

A guest lecture on " Breast Cancer in Young Women " was successfully organized on 29 July 2026 at Siddhartha Nursing Education and Research Institute. The programme was conducted under the initiative of the Breast Cancer in Young Women Foundation, during which a new chapter of the Foundation was officially inaugurated.

The session aimed to create awareness among nursing students about breast cancer in young women, emphasizing the importance of early detection, breast self-examination, risk factors, warning signs, and timely medical consultation.

The resource persons for the programme were Ms. Kajal, Ms. Kiran, and Ms. Akansha, who delivered informative and engaging presentations. They highlighted the importance of spreading awareness, reducing stigma, and encouraging healthy lifestyle practices for the prevention and early diagnosis of breast cancer.

The programme was highly interactive, with enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. The session concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the management, faculty, resource persons, and all participants for making the event meaningful and successful.
