🥛The world first “raised a glass” to World Milk Day in 2001.
🥛Dr. Kurien was given the title 'The Milkman of India' because he created milk powder using buffalo milk when the world was still using milk. For his contribution to the dairy industry in India, he was awarded the Ramon Magsaysay Award, Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Vibhushan.
🥛India ranks first in milk production in the world contributing 24% of global milk production.
🥛Four different types of milk are: whole milk (3.25% milk fat), reduced fat milk (2%), low fat milk (1%) and fat-free milk, which is also known as skimmed milk. Each of these four milk types contain nine essential ingredients, as well as protein.
