The registrations for GATE 2017 will commence on September 1 at the official website. Aspirants who need to plan their schedule are required to note that the exam will be conducted in February. The GATE exam 2017 is scheduled to be conducted on February 4 and 5. Aspirants will also be able to appear for the exam on February 11 and 12, 2017. The exam will be tentatively conducted in two sessions (Forenoon session 9.00 AM-12.00 Noon; Afternoon session: 2.00 PM-5.00 PM). It will also be beneficial for the candidates to keep a track on the official website for any change in timings or sessions/dates shall be displayed on GATE.
Candidates will be able to register for the GATE entrance exam at gate.iitr.ernet.in for admissions to IITs/IISc or other Institutes for M.Tech./Ph.D courses through GATE 2017 scores. This year the paper pattern of GATE 2017 will consist of a total of 65 questions, each question will carry 100 marks. 10 questions carrying a total of 15 marks will be on General Aptitude (GA). The papers will have codes such as AE, AG, BT, CE, CH,CS, EC, EE, IN. ME, MN, MT, PE, PI, TF and XE. The Engineering Mathematics, General Aptitude Section will carry marks according to the codes of the paper. In all papers, General Aptitude (GA) carry a total of 15 marks. The GA section will include 5 questions and will carry 1 mark each and 5 questions will carry 2 marks each.
