The percentage criteria are so much confusing that even the University prospectuses have several contradictory credentials. Over and above all the colleges have liberty to make their own rules? As for example some colleges took admission with 2 languages but other stick to include 1 language + 3 electives. There is no thumb rule. Some colleges give negative weight age to some of the subjects while
other does not treat as same. Hence the whole admission process seems to be substandard. India has unity in diversity. There are several Boards/Universities apart from CBSE. Their curriculum and subjects as core/electives/academic/vocational differs. So there should be a uniform rule for each of the subjects. The University Prospects have defined the academic and vocational subjects clearly on page 3, 4 and 5. But the same academic/vocational subjects are treated differently in by all the other colleges under DU with their own set of rules. This makes a great deal of confusion among aspiring students who were unable to decide what to do for admission and bewilderly move from this college to that college (up to 1 pm only)? Ultimately, either they plan to take admission in DU or left for home in the far-flung and remote areas from where they came or trapped by the fake certificate makers or mediators who take unscrupulous advantage of the unclear set of rules of DU.
