● 23 जुलाई 1906 में भारतीय क्रांतिकारी शहीद चन्द्रशेखर आज़ाद का जन्म हुआ।

● आकाशवाणी की स्थापना 1927 में 23 जुलाई के दिन की गई थी और उस समय इस सेवा का नाम भारतीय प्रसारण सेवा (इंडियन ब्रॉडकास्टिंग कार्पोरेशन) रखा गया था। देश में रेडियो प्रसारण की शुरुआत मुंबई और कोलकाता में सन 1927 में दो निजी ट्रांसमीटरों से की गई। 1930 में इसका राष्ट्रीयकरण हुआ और 1957 में इसका नाम बदल कर आकाशवाणी रखा गया। प्रसार भारती (ब्रॉडकास्टिंग कार्पोरेशन ऑफ इंडिया के नाम से भी जानते हैं) भारत की एक सार्वजनिक प्रसारण संस्था है। इसमें मुख्य रूप से दूरदर्शन एवं आकाशवाणी शामिल हैं। सरकारी प्रसारण संस्थाओं को स्वायत्तता देने के इरादे से 23 नवंबर 1997 को प्रसार भारती का गठन किया गया, जो देश की एक सार्वजनिक प्रसारण संस्था है और इसमें मुख्य रूप से दूरदर्शन और आकाशवाणी को शामिल किया गया है।
(All India Radio was founded on July 23, 1927 and the service was named Indian Broadcasting Corporation at that time. Radio broadcasting started in the country in 1927 in Mumbai and Kolkata with two private transmitters. It was nationalized in 1930 and renamed Akashvani in 1957. Prasar Bharati (also known as Broadcasting Corporation of India) is a public broadcasting institution in India. It mainly consists of Doordarshan and All India Radio. With the intention of giving autonomy to government broadcasting entities, Prasar Bharati, a public broadcasting body of the country, was formed on 23 November 1997 and it mainly included Doordarshan and All India Radio)
