सुखार्थिनः कुतो विद्या विद्यार्थिनः कुतः सुखम् ।

सुखार्थी वा त्यजेत्विद्यां विद्यार्थी व त्यजेत् सुखम् ।
सुख की इच्छा रखने वाले को विद्या की प्राप्ति नही हो सकती है । विद्या की इच्छा रखने वाले को सुख नही मिल सकता है । अतः सुख की कामना करने वाले को विद्या का त्याग कर देना चाहिये तथा विद्या की प्राप्ति के लिये सुख का परित्याग कर देना चाहिये ।
One who desires happiness cannot attain learning. One who desires knowledge cannot get happiness. Therefore, one who desires happiness should renounce knowledge and abandon happiness for the attainment of learning.
