Here we are! Ravenshaw University Model United Nations is scheduled to be held on 3rd, 4th and 5th of July, 2015 at Ravenshaw University, Cuttack. Our official tagline goes, "Ravenshaw University Model United Nations. Ethos. Pathos. Logos."
Coming from an Aristotelian tradition, "Ethos. Pathos. Logos." is a reference to the three modes of persuasion used by a convincing speaker. Characteristic of a good MUNer, this tagline represents the purpose of Ravenshaw University Model United Nations the best.
Ethos- 'When you can't convince, confuse!' That's how the saying goes, but in reality there is too much confusion already. Presenting yourself with conviction is what makes us stand apart from others. Transform the MUNer in you into an authority, and you become worthy of respect.
Pathos- 'Let every foot have its own shoe'. A speaker is good as as his emotional connection with the audience. What you speak is up for interpretation by the listeners. So connect with the emotional response of the audience and emotional appeal can effectively be used to enhance an argument.
Logos-'People who lean on logic end by starving the best part of the mind'. The best of debaters go awry due to lack of logical approach in their talk. So mix a pinch of logical 'salt' to the delicacy you are going to present.
