Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, an eminent philosopher, and India's second President. Dr. Radhakrishnan believed that “Teachers should be the best minds in the country”. In 1962, when he became President, his students and friends suggested celebrating his birthday as a day to honour all teachers. This proposal led to the establishment of Teacher's Day in India and, over time, its adoption in various countries worldwide.
Teachers play a pivotal role in shaping minds and instilling values that extend far beyond textbooks. They are the guiding lights that illuminate the path to knowledge and wisdom. On this special day, students and communities can show their appreciation through various means, from heartfelt cards and messages to organizing events and initiatives that honour their teachers. Simple gestures of thanks can go a long way in acknowledging the tireless efforts of educators.
