১৯৪৭ সালের ১৫ই আগস্ট ভারত স্বাধীনতা লাভ করে। কিন্তু তখনও দেশটি ব্রিটিশদের তৈরি আইন অনুযায়ী পরিচালিত হতো। তাই স্বাধীন ভারতের নিজস্ব সংবিধান তৈরির প্রয়োজন দেখা দেয়।
ড. বি. আর. আম্বেদকরের নেতৃত্বে অনেক মহান নেতা একসাথে কাজ করে ভারতের সংবিধান রচনা করেন। দীর্ঘ পরিশ্রমের পরে এই সংবিধানটি সম্পূর্ণ হয় এবং ১৯৫০ সালের ২৬শে জানুয়ারি থেকে কার্যকর হয়।
এই দিনেই ভারত একটি প্রজাতন্ত্র হিসেবে আত্মপ্রকাশ করে, যেখানে দেশের জনগণ নিজেরাই তাদের শাসক নির্বাচন করার অধিকার পায়। সেই ঐতিহাসিক দিনটির স্মরণে প্রতি বছর ২৬শে জানুয়ারি প্রজাতন্ত্র দিবস হিসেবে পালিত হয়।

পঞ্চম থেকে অষ্টম শ্রেণী পর্যন্ত ছাত্রছাত্রীদের অবগতির জন্য জানানো যাচ্ছে যে 23/12/2025 তারিখ মঙ্গলবার 2025 শিক্ষাবর্ষের জন্য স্কুল ইউনিফর্ম বিতরণ করা হবে। সংশ্লিষ্ট সকলকে উক্ত দিনে বিদ্যালয়ে এসে ইউনিফর্ম সংগ্রহ করার জন্য নির্দেশ দেওয়া হলো।
