The Little Girl and the Paper Birds
Under the vast sky of a small village, there lived a little girl named Rini. She was seven years old, with big, curious eyes and a heart full of dreams. But unlike other children, Rini couldn't run and play freely. A childhood illness had left her unable to walk, and she spent most of her time sitting by the window, watching the world move around her.
One day, while watching the birds outside, she sighed and whispered, âI wish I could fly like them.â
Her elder brother, Joy, who loved her dearly, heard her wish. He wanted to make her happy, so he folded a piece of paper into a bird and placed it in her hands. âHere, Rini,â he said, smiling. âNow you have your own bird.â
Riniâs eyes sparkled with joy. She held the paper bird close to her chest and named it "Chhobi." From that day on, Joy made her a new paper bird every morning. Soon, Rini's room was filled with colorful paper birds, each carrying her dreams.
One evening, there was a strong storm. The wind howled outside, and the rain poured heavily. Rini clutched her paper birds, afraid they might fly away. But the storm was too strong. A gust of wind blew through the window, snatching a few birds and scattering them into the night.
The next morning, as the storm calmed, Joy took Rini outside for the first time in months. They found one of her paper birds caught in a tree branch, fluttering gently in the breeze.
âLook, Rini,â Joy said, pointing at it. âYour bird is flying.â
Riniâs heart filled with happiness. âMaybe one day, Iâll fly too,â she whispered, smiling.
From that day on, Rini never felt trapped again. With each new paper bird, she believed that one day, she too would soar beyond her limits.
