Farewell is an occasion that triggers mixed emotions in people and a sad goodbye for people who have been with us so far filled with good wishes for their future journey.

On April 25th a Farewell party was held to bid adieu to our honourable Advisor Miss. G. Rajeswari. A few days before the party, the campus of Coimbatore Gurukul was filled with painful discussions & planning, whispered softly and subdued silent preparations.

The party began at 3.15 p.m. and all the staff members were seated around the Yoga hall awaiting the arrival of Madam. When she stepped into the hall, she was welcomed with flowers, kumkum, sugar candy and spontaneous rhythmic clapping as she walked up the aisle reading all the descriptive words hanging from heart shaped coloured festoons. A big banner painted artistically was placed above the head table poignantly expressing the mood and feeling of everyone saying “We’ll miss you Ma’am”.

The universal prayer which our Advisor herself had instituted was recited fervently by everyone.

Next “A walk down memory lane” commenced. A few staff which included the admin, teaching and helpers who had traversed the pathways uphill and downhill on this successful Equitasian journey with Ma’am for the past 8 years reminisced the good times they had experienced together.

Later each of the other members recounted briefly their own journey with Ma’am.

A hush of respectful silence settled over the room as many shared their experiences and bid farewell to her in tears. There was an outpouring of praise and gratitude for her. The innumerable contributions of Advisor Ma’am for the betterment of the school and the staff were highlighted. Her aura of strict discipline and unfathomable knowledge had in one way or the other touched each and every member of the Equitas family. She was a mentor who gave much importance to good character and professional etiquette.Under her leadership, Equitas has witnessed tremendous growth and has become a reputed school to reckon with in this area.

Next we binged on a few minutes of stand up comedy performed by two teachers that transcended everyone from the stillness of melancholy into throes of laughter.
All the teachers then sang a farewell song of flowers rendered in harmonious lilting notes of love and good wishes.

The highlight of the evening was the lighting of the mother lamp by Ma’am. She symbolically passed on her knowledge and blessing to each member by lighting their small deepams. The electricity was switched off,the hall was engulfed in resplendent hues of golden light emanating from the lamps. Everyone held the flames in their cupped palms in reverential respectfulness and gratitude to their friend, philosopher and guide. Her final words of blessing “May God Bless you” had a profound impact in the hearts of each one present that evening.

The Principal Ms. S. Sunantha felicitated Ma’am as her former – student, teacher and present successor with words of gratitude and the promise to continue the good work started by the dedication and hard work put in by Ma’am for the past eight years.

Advisor Ma’am then delivered her final address to her beloved staff in incredibly touching words of blessings and good wishes for future success of the school and each one involved in it. She presented a wonderful souvenir to the school – a gleaming “Kuthuvilakku” as a testimony of her love and the light of her knowledge to be passed on to the future generations. As an evidence of her affection, she gifted each one of the staff with an unforgettable keepsake.

As a gesture of our gratitude to Ma’am, several tokens of love were presented to her in between the events. These were special moments which illuminated the evening and will be remembered and cherished in our memories for ever.

The memorabilia were:
• A handmade greeting card signed by all the staff
• A Sandal garland
• A huge framed photo collage comprised of numerous photos recording her special moments captured right from the inception of Coimbatore Gurukul till date.
• A Fruit basket
• A Bouquet of flowers
• A Memory jar filled with snippets of everlasting memories Ma’am had created with each and every one
• A Plaque with accolades to the First and the Best Principal, the Towering personality and the Iron lady of Equitas.

The momentous evening came to an end on a pleasant note tinged with sadness.

The Scintillating Stars of Equitas Gurukul MHSS, Coimbatore

“Farewells are not forever, Farewells are not the end. They simply mean, we’ll miss you until we meet again”
Every student who begins his/her school life must end it one day . Filled with curiosity and zeal, the students of class 11 took the chance and initiated a farewell party on 23rd February 2019 to our outgoing students of class 12 in our school yoga hall under the supervision of the teachers. Each one of us was given a creatively designed and aptly worded invitation card for the party.
They had beautifully decorated the auditorium with colorful balloons, drew superb drawing with all the names of 12th students on the board which were admired by everyone . A very warm welcome was given to the outgoing students and staff with sweets and flowers.
The function began with the recitation of the prayer song. The Advisor, Principal, class teachers and class leaders of XII Std lit the lamp.
Anuruthi.M of class 11 extended a warm welcome to everyone gathered. Cathrine of class 11 took the privilege to deliver the fare well speech.
This was followed by the two class teachers Mrs.N.B.Indra & Mrs.V.Shanthi recalling their reminiscence with their students in the journey so far. All the teachers handling XII std shared their impressions of all the students, highlighting their positives and wishing them success not only in their board exams but also in all their future endeavors. Post this, a mellifluous farewell song was sung by the gregarious girls of XI Std, which enchanted the audience.
On the lighter side, a couple of games were organized and conducted by Mr.Rajkumar (Block 2 Coordinator) in which the students participated enthusiastically and later, prizes were given for the winners.
Next, it was time for the response from the outgoing students. Master.Thillai Ambalanathan & Miss.Mohanameena, the students who are in the school right from its inception shared their nostalgic memories of their journey in Equitas for the past 8 years and assured that they will be the true ambassadors of Equitas once they step into the society. They impressed the audience by their confidence, eloquence and maturity.
Next our Principal felicitated and greeted the outgoing students. She was happy that the learning in Equitas has made everyone confident, competent, and committed and she expected them to be compassionate future citizens and true ambassadors of Equitas. She wanted them to continue with GOAL SETTING in every stage of their lives and also to truly live the SEVEN HABITS in word & spirit. She also requested them to stay connected with their alma mater.
Our Advisor, having started her journey in Equitas with this set of XII Std way back in 2011, recalled her memories over these years. She had specific instances related to every student to share which made them feel happy. She was sure that Equitas has equipped them well to face the challenges and blessed them on this solemn occasion.
An aesthetically designed memento with a beautiful quote was presented to each of the students. As a token of their love, gratitude and regards, the XII Std students presented 3 cosy visitor’s chairs to the school and a small gift to all the teaching and non-teaching staff.
The students and the staff alike applauded the efforts put in by the students of class XI.
Fariza.M.S of XI Std, delivered the vote of thanks. The day was great with sweet memories and delicious snacks to all.

Today (05.02.2019) the students of classes V – VIII from Equitas Gurukul, Coimbatore formed a Public Awareness Human Chain with Placards.
The objective of the Human Chain is to create awareness on Road Safety & ill effects of Plastics.
• Inaugurated by our Advisor Ma’am, CSR members Mr. Kalingaraj and Mr. Baba
• Escorted by Mr. Udayakumar - Sub Inspector accompanied with 2 Head Constables from D3 Police Station, Podanur.
• Lead by our Principal
• Organised by the middle school Coordinator
• 12 teachers participated along with 224 students from the classes V – VIII
