We had a wonderful Teachers’ Day Out at our alumni’s JTC Club Resort today! ☺️

A morning in the pool, a game of taboo and musical chairs, a fun awards afternoon, yummy food and lots of laughter, joy and photos!

Thank you so much for the amazing hospitality, Ms Rashmi and Mr Anurag! We had a lovely time today - a much needed break! ✨

A year later, we’re back with yet another Wood-Working Workshop - open to anyone above the age of 12!

You can choose an item of your choice from the given list, and the number of days of the workshop depends on how long you take to finish it - some items can be done in 2-3 days and some in 4-5 days! The workshop fee again depends on the item you choose.
Please do message us if you have any queries or contact the number given in the article for registration!

This workshop has been put together by the Management of GD School for the public as we would like to share our knowledge with everybody! We thank Ms Kirthana and Indian Express for sharing why we focus on extra curricular activities in our school and about our workshop!

We are extremely delighted to say that the first wood-work workshop conducted by G.D Matric Higher Secondary School for the public from the 16th to 20th April, 2018, was a huge success! Some of the products made by the participants were chairs, table tennis bats, hand mirrors, candle holders & name-plates!

Wood-work is one of the many skills like cookery, tailoring, terrace-gardening, 3D printing, that the school offers to the students of classes 6-9 in the regular curriculum of the school, during school hours! We believe that these various skills will come in handy at some point or the other in one's life and it helps in providing holistic education to the students! With machinery & technology imported from Germany, the skills development centre of the school is fully functional with trained instructors handling the various sessions!

Here's a newpaper article about the workshop and the school published in Dina Malar's Kovai Metro edition dated 22/04/2018! It is indeed a proud moment for the institution, and we hope to offer this and more in the future!

We will be conducting more such workshops for the public from now, with the next one being aimed for the end of September! Watch this page for further updates!

First, here's wishing all our teachers a happy, happy Teachers' Day! Thank you for all the love and support! :)

This year, Teachers' Day was celebrated with a lot of excitement.. Here are a few photos from today! :)

Again, a big thank you to the GD Cabinet and to all the students who made the day so memorable for the teachers! :)

PS. Since we are very particular about the safety of our students on facebook, our photos uploaded aren't very clear. We are sorry about that though! :)

After a few dances, an orchestra performance, a recitation by the little ones and a couple of games, our lovely students finished the morning of celebrations with an amazing flash mob that got all our teachers on their feet :D

A big thank you to the students who put their heart n soul into today's events.. 140 students practicing n putting up such a show in two weeks is wonderful. A bigger thank you to the GD cabinet for organising a day full of fun and frolic so well. :)

Tomorrow is a day specially dedicated to those lovely souls who moulded us into good human beings. Yes, Teacher's Day is here! :)

The staff and students of our school are gearing up for a day full of fun, laughter and joy. When 'em teachers give the students so much without expecting anything in return, they need to feel special too, right? :) So for the past couple of weeks, around 140 children from classes 1 to 12 have put their heart and soul into a lot of fun events just to show their love for their teachers..

We invite all the Alumni to our Teachers' Day Celebration of 2015.. You are most welcome to join the students to show your love and respect for your teachers!

One of the many activities on a normal working Saturday - Vermicompost Terrace Gardening! :)

We felt teaching the students terrace gardening would be a good way to make them understand the importance of dignity of labour, get interested in having a garden of their own, and also be well-versed in all activities. :)

Students from classes VI to X have their own plants to take care of. Vegetables like brinjal, lady's finger & bittergourd, coriander, and greens like spinach is what one can find in our tiny little terrace garden which is located above the classrooms of standard IX & X. :)

This academic year, Saturdays are book-free days for classes I to X ! Students come to school with just their brunch boxes because all they have is fun(with a lot of learning of course!) :)
Taekwondo, Carpentry, Electronics, CAD - 3D Printing, Terrace Gardening, Bird Watching club, English club, Maths Club, Science club are some of the clubs and activities done on a normal Saturday in school now.
Doesn't that sound exciting? ;)
