Harsh*ta Singh, Teacher Trainee (2021), shares her experience of the Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Program.
What’s your experience of being here at Isha Yoga Center?
Being in this beautiful space at the foothills of the Velliangiri hills, supported by such a committed atmosphere for five months of self-transformation and exploration, is a treasure and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me.
Why did you choose Isha Hatha Yoga Teacher Training?
Before getting introduced to Isha, I was looking at various places to get certified. My intention was just to add something cool, like another hobby, to the holistic trend worldwide. Luckily enough, after experiencing Hatha Yoga Teachers Training at Isha, I know why it is a five-month training. I never knew Yoga could be done in this manner.
As a trainee, what has your experience been like so far?
It is not about teaching or just getting certified but about making it an experiential reality within me, and the teaching, the offering will be an effortless, natural consequence. Be it eating, walking or talking, Yoga is happening to me here, and this is the most significant part of this program in my experience.
We also manage to find Yoga in the utmost playful ways here, even in the many beautiful festivals we got to celebrate. We learnt how to approach the most in-depth science and tools of the core of life and Yoga in a joyful and playful way. Such is the nature of this program.
At this stage in the program, how do you feel?
Having come halfway through the training, it has transformed me to be very integrated within myself before I can offer it to someone else. The only way I can imagine offering my gratitude is to be able to carry this forward with utmost reverence and maintain myself, my integrity in line with what I learnt here.
