Happy Father's Day to All Teacher Fathers!

Today, we proudly celebrate the remarkable men who carry two of the most meaningful titles in the world—Father and Teacher.

Being a father is a lifelong commitment to love, guide, protect, and inspire. Being a teacher is a daily commitment to educate, encourage, and shape the future. Those who embrace both roles embody a special kind of dedication that extends far beyond the walls of a classroom and the comforts of home.

Teacher fathers are builders of character, cultivators of dreams, and champions of lifelong learning. They teach not only through lessons and lectures but also through their actions, integrity, patience, and compassion. They understand that education is not merely about academic achievement; it is about helping young people become responsible, confident, and capable individuals.

Every day, teacher fathers invest their time, energy, and hearts into the lives of others. They prepare lessons late into the evening, support students through challenges, celebrate achievements, and inspire a love for learning. At the same time, they nurture their own children, offering guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support through every stage of life.

Their influence reaches far beyond what can be measured. A teacher father may never fully know the impact of a kind word, a thoughtful lesson, or a moment of encouragement. Yet years later, former students often remember the teacher who believed in them, motivated them, and helped them discover their potential. Likewise, their children carry forward the values, wisdom, and love they received at home.

On this Father's Day, we recognize the sacrifices teacher fathers make to balance professional responsibilities with family commitments. We celebrate their resilience, dedication, and passion for making a difference in the lives of both their students and their loved ones.

To every teacher father—whether you teach in a preschool classroom, a university lecture hall, a training center, or any learning environment—thank you. Thank you for your patience when days are difficult, for your commitment when challenges arise, and for your belief in the power of education to transform lives.

Your work creates ripples that extend across generations. You are not only educating students; you are helping build stronger families, communities, and societies. Through your example, you demonstrate the values of responsibility, perseverance, kindness, and lifelong learning.

May this day bring you the appreciation you deserve, the recognition you have earned, and the joy of knowing that your efforts matter deeply. May you take pride in the countless lives you have touched and the legacy you continue to create every day.

Happy Father's Day to all Teacher Fathers!

Your lessons shape minds.
Your love shapes hearts.
Your influence shapes the future.

Thank you for being extraordinary educators, devoted fathers, and inspiring role models.

With gratitude and admiration,
The Teaching Edge

A growing number of schools are scaling back the use of laptops, tablets, and smartphones in classrooms, with some educators reporting significant improvements in student focus, reading confidence, and critical thinking skills after returning to traditional pen-and-paper learning methods.

One of the most notable examples comes from Washburn High School in Minneapolis, where Advanced Placement Literature teacher Maureen Mulvaney removed phones and laptops from her classroom during the last school year. Students were required to complete assignments by hand and use physical textbooks instead of digital versions. The shift was designed to reduce distractions and rebuild skills that many educators believe have weakened during years of screen-based learning.

The changes were striking. At the start of the school year, only 46 percent of students said they felt confident in their reading abilities. By February, that figure had risen to 95 percent. Students who initially struggled to write even half a page by hand were eventually producing six or seven pages, while nearly 80 percent reported that organizing thoughts and developing ideas felt easier on paper than on a screen.
