அலகு பொருளாதாரம் (Unit Economics) என்பது தொழிலில் லாப, நட்டங்களை, வரவு செலவுகளின் அடிப்படையில், தொழிலின் அடிப்படையான ஒரு அலகுக்கு நிகராக கணக்கீடு செய்தல் என்று வரையறை செய்யலாம். இந்த கணக்கீடு எதிர் காலத்துக்கான கணிப்பாகவோ அல்லது முடிந்த காலத்துக்கான பகுப்பாய்வாகவோ அல்லது நாம் கணித்த அலகு பொருளாதாரத்துக்கும், உண்மையில் நடந்த அலகு பொருளாதாரத்துக்குமான ஒப்பீடாகவோ இருக்கலாம். சரியான அலகு பொருளாதார மேலாண்மை என்பது வளர்ச்சிக்கும், லாபத்துக்கும் சமநிலை இருக்கும் படி நிர்வகிப்பது.
