The program directly prepares students for three professional pathways. It offers hands-on training in contemporary storytelling for the creative and digital media sectors, alongside advanced pedagogical training for careers in education.

Additionally, students aiming for government roles receive integrated civil service coaching through the Kumaraguru Centre for Public and Competitive Careers (KCPC).

What happens when passion meets purpose? A team from DefTech Forum of Kumaraguru Institutions just returned from a high-octane, three-day technical odyssey in Bengaluru, and the experience was nothing short of transformative!

From the hallowed grounds of the Air Force Technical College (AFTC) to the buzzing halls of the DEF-TECH Bharath Expo 2026, our students and staff went behind the scenes of India’s defence ecosystem.

The highlights of our mission:

Mastering Tech at AFTC: From fighter propulsion systems to complex aircraft structures, our students were mentored by the best in the Indian Air Force.

Networking at the Expo: We shared our vision on the global stage, connecting with industry titans like ideaForge and Flying Wedge Defence & Aerospace to unlock new pathways for internships and collaborative research.

Mentorship: Securing guidance from esteemed leaders like Air Vice Marshal Vikas Dwivedi VSM and Dr. Sukhendu Deb Roy is a massive milestone for our research trajectory.

When capability triumphs over circumstance, the sky is the limit!

We recently had the immense pride of hosting the N. Mahalingam Scholarship for Transformative Education Program (NM STEP) celebration, honouring 69 extraordinary graduating scholars from Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT) and Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science (KCLAS). This initiative is not an act of charity, but our privilege to support highly capable students whose potential might otherwise be hindered by financial constraints.

The event was a masterclass in resilience and the transformational power of education:

Shri Shankar Vanavarayar (President, KI) delivered a poignant address on education as the ultimate equalizer. Expressing deep gratitude to the parents and our NGO partners for their grassroots efforts, his powerful thought: "Challenging circumstances are not setbacks; rather, it is navigating an 'outstandingly' difficult situation that ultimately molds a person into someone truly fantastic."

Chief Guest Lt. Col. M. Rajasekar (Indian Army Officer & KCT Alumnus 2005) shared his raw, awe-inspiring journey from a rural, Tamil-medium background to becoming an elite military leader. He reminded our scholars that their early life struggles have gifted them with a profound mental resilience that sheltered lives rarely build. His ultimate advice? "Fix your target, do not let your background affect your dreams, and do not deviate. You can withstand any pressure."
