When capability triumphs over circumstance, the sky is the limit!
We recently had the immense pride of hosting the N. Mahalingam Scholarship for Transformative Education Program (NM STEP) celebration, honouring 69 extraordinary graduating scholars from Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT) and Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science (KCLAS). This initiative is not an act of charity, but our privilege to support highly capable students whose potential might otherwise be hindered by financial constraints.
The event was a masterclass in resilience and the transformational power of education:
Shri Shankar Vanavarayar (President, KI) delivered a poignant address on education as the ultimate equalizer. Expressing deep gratitude to the parents and our NGO partners for their grassroots efforts, his powerful thought: "Challenging circumstances are not setbacks; rather, it is navigating an 'outstandingly' difficult situation that ultimately molds a person into someone truly fantastic."
Chief Guest Lt. Col. M. Rajasekar (Indian Army Officer & KCT Alumnus 2005) shared his raw, awe-inspiring journey from a rural, Tamil-medium background to becoming an elite military leader. He reminded our scholars that their early life struggles have gifted them with a profound mental resilience that sheltered lives rarely build. His ultimate advice? "Fix your target, do not let your background affect your dreams, and do not deviate. You can withstand any pressure."
To our 69 graduating STEP scholars: You are a testament to the fact that with focus and determination, no barrier is too high.

Strength in Inclusion. Power in Perseverance.
The Kumaraguru campus was transformed into a field of dreams on Saturday, 12th March 2026 as we hosted DHRITI 2026—an Inclusive Inter-District Sports Meet organized by Kaumaram Prashanthi Academy (KPA).
True to its name, "Dhriti" (meaning strength), the event saw over 200 neurodiverse and neurotypical students from 12 districts coming together to redefine sportsmanship. Through Unified Games in Football and Throwball, barriers were broken, and the true spirit of equality took center stage.
We are honored to continue our long-standing partnership with KPA, following the legacy of INQ-FEST, to provide a platform where every ability is celebrated. A huge salute to Ms. Deepa Mohanraj and the 90+ professionals at KPA for their tireless mission to empower neurodiverse children.

From a dream deferred to a dream realized!
Meet Suriya Prakash U, our final-year Mechanical Engineering student from Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT) who just proved that your starting point doesn’t define your destination.
After missing out on an IIT seat post-12th grade, Suriya didn’t give up. Instead, he locked in. Today, we couldn't be prouder to announce that he has cracked the GATE 2026 examination with a phenomenal All India Rank of 283!
How did he pull off this incredible 4-year mission? By turning KCT’s flexible 4-Day Academic Cycle into a strategic advantage, putting in 8-hour study grinds on weekends, all while actively leading in the SEDS and Mechanical Department Association.
Now, with his eyes on a Master’s in top IITs particularly Thermal Engineering at IIT Madras, he is one step closer to his goal: engineering the future of rockets and missiles at ISRO or DRDO.
Suriya, you are an absolute inspiration and a role model to every student on campus. Congratulations on bringing this massive honour home to Kumaraguru!

SUCCESS IS NOT A COINCIDENCE. IT’S A ₹1.6 CRORE COMMITMENT.
Today, the Ramanandha Adigalar Auditorium didn’t just hold an event; it held the future of India. Kumaraguru Institutions officially awarded the Mahatma Gandhi Merit Scholarship (MGS) 2026, recognizing the top 10% of our students —1,675 scholars who chose focus over distraction.
Inspired by our Founder, Arutchelvar Dr. N. Mahalingam Ayya, MGS is our institutional oath to excellence. It’s about the grit shown in the labs, the discipline on the NCC parade grounds, and the sweat on the sports field.
Our Chief Guest, Dr. K.P. Ramasamy (Chairman, KPR Group), dropped a truth bomb: "In a world of rapid tech shifts, static degrees are dead." He challenged our scholars to trade "comfort for focus" and build a self-reliant India through continuous upskilling.
"Your only real capital is your self-belief." Our Chairman, Dr. B. K. Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, reminded every awardee that carrying a certificate with the Mahatma’s name is a lifelong responsibility to uphold integrity and unshakable character.
Congratulations to the Class of 2026. The Kumaraguru flag is now in your hands.
DROP a wish message to the MGS Class of 2026 and TAG a scholar who inspires you to aim higher! Let’s fill in the comments with Kumaraguru pride!
