🚀 From Prototype to Market: A Hands-on Workshop for Hardware Founders

The “From Prototype to Market – A Hands-on Workshop for Hardware Founders” was successfully conducted on 21 August 2026 at PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Coimbatore.

The workshop was jointly organized as part of the ecosystem partnership between IIT Palakkad Technology iHub Foundation (IPTIF), and NSRCEL, IIM Bangalore, under Season 2 of Velocity – Kotak BizLabs, supporting post-MVP and revenue-generating startups in their journey towards growth and scale.

✨ Key Highlights
The session featured Mr. Sri Krishnan, Mentor, NSRCEL and Former Senior Vice President, Bosch, who shared valuable insights on the hardware startup journey, product development processes, and challenges involved in taking hardware innovations from concept to market.

The interactive session covered:
🔹 Hardware product development processes and considerations
🔹 Challenges faced by hardware startups during product development
🔹 Evaluating and strengthening existing technologies and products
🔹 Identifying unique challenges in hardware innovation and commercialisation
🔹 Practical insights into moving from prototype development towards market readiness

The workshop brought together 46 participants, including startup founders, student entrepreneurs, faculty members, and managers from startups, incubation centres, and institutions, creating a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and ecosystem engagement.

🤝 The event provided an opportunity for participants to interact with an experienced industry mentor, discuss their technology and startup challenges, and gain practical perspectives on building scalable hardware ventures.

A meaningful step towards strengthening the hardware innovation and startup ecosystem in Coimbatore! 🚀

The Department of Costume and Apparel Design, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, organised a Handloom Day – Guest Lecture and Exhibition-cum-Sales on 20 August 2026 to create awareness among students about the importance of handloom textiles and traditional weaving practices.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. N. Yesodha Devi, Vice President, PSGRKCW; Dr. P. B. Harathi, Principal, PSGRKCW; and Mr. V. Sentilkumar, Assistant Director, Handloom Department, Coimbatore.

The guest lecture by Mr. V. Sentilkumar highlighted the cultural, economic, and sustainable significance of handloom textiles and the need to preserve and promote traditional weaving practices.

The programme also included a memento presentation, prize distribution, and an exhibition-cum-sales of handloom products, providing students with an opportunity to appreciate traditional craftsmanship.

The programme was a meaningful initiative that enhanced students’ awareness and appreciation of India’s rich handloom heritage and its relevance to contemporary fashion.

PSGR Krishnammal College for Women (KCW), represented by Dr. P. B. Harathi, Principal, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Air Force (IAF) represented by Air Commodore Dr. Nishant Gupta – Air Commodore Education on 20 August 2026.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Wg Cdr Alka Chaudhary Nain – Director, University Outreach Programme, Mr. Satish - Junior Warrant Officer, a 11-member team from Air Force Administrative College (AFAC) and the leadership team from KCW

This MoU marks a significant milestone in strengthening academic collaboration, knowledge exchange, and engagement between academia and the armed forces. It is expected to open new avenues for collaborative initiatives, mutual learning, and capacity building.

KCW looks forward to a fruitful and meaningful association with the Indian Air Force, contributing towards the holistic development and empowerment of young minds.

A remarkable global achievement for PSGR Krishnammal College for Women, Coimbatore!

We are delighted to announce that Ms. G. Naviyasri, II M.Sc. Physics, and Ms. S. K. Madanika, II M.Sc. Computer Science, have been selected for the prestigious “Future with India: Cutting-Edge Collaborative Research and Advanced Education for Global STEM Leaders” Programme at Ochanomizu University, Tokyo, Japan. 🇯🇵

What makes this achievement especially significant?

✨ Only five students from India have been selected for the programme—and two of them are from PSGR Krishnammal College for Women.

Over the next seven months, our students will have opportunities for advanced learning, collaborative research, laboratory-based learning, international academic interactions, Japanese language and cultural learning, and professional exposure.

Adding to this achievement, both students have also been selected for internships at Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP), Tokyo. This will provide valuable exposure to a global corporate environment and help them connect their academic knowledge with real-world applications.

This journey represents what meaningful higher education can create—knowledge, research, confidence, global exposure and opportunities for women to lead on an international stage.
