The Cultural Club of Sree Narayana Guru College, K.G. Chavadi, celebrated Pongal function on 12th January 2019. Dr. M. Ilangovan, Principal, SNGC welcomed the gathering. Shri. M.P. Vasu, Secretary, SNGET presided over the function. Ponmudi C. Subbaiyan , President, Tamil Ilakkiya Peravai, the chief guest delivered the highlights of Pongal celebration. All staff members and students prepared the Pongal in our traditional way of lighting the kuthuvilakku.

Students participated in the competitions like uri addithal, kayiru izhuthal. The winners were awarded with prizes. Finally Mr. Bellaro John Regan, the member of Cultural Club proposed a vote of thanks.

NSS SPECIAL CAMP
The National Service Scheme, Sree Narayana Guru College inaugurated the Seven Days NSS Special Camp on 04.01.2019, Friday at Puduppathi and Chinnampathi Villages, Coimbatore, on the theme, “Youth Social Responsibilty”. Mr.A.Bellaro John Regan, NSS Programme Officer, welcomed the gathering. Mr.B.Rameshkumar, NSS Programme Officer, gave the Introduction of the Camp. Thiru.P.M.VASU, Secretary, SNGET, presided over the function. Mr.M.Senthil Kumar, Madukkarai Forest Ranger, was the chief guest, and he motivated the NSS Volunteers during his address. Dr.M.Ilangovan, Principal, delivered the special address. Mr. N.Ganesan, Mr.N.Manikandan, Mr. T.Senthil kumar from the villages felicitated the gathering. Mr.V.Pratheep Kumar, NSS Programme Officer, proposed a vote of thanks.

The PG & Research Department of Mathematics, Sree Narayana Guru College, K.G.Chavadi, Coimbatore conducted a state level workshop on “LATEX” on 18.12.2018.The resource person was Dr. M. Mallikaarjunan, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, C.B.M. College, Coimbatore. About 40 students from various colleges attended the workshop. The practical session of the workshop helped the participants since latex is a tool used in typesetting documents particularly in Mathematics Where typing formulae become hazzlefree.

Human Rights Day at SNGC

The P.G. & Research Department of Social Work, Human Rights Cell and National Service Scheme, of Sree Narayana Guru College, jointly organized an Awareness Rally on Human Rights Day on 10/12/2018, Monday from College Premises to Ettimadai Town. Mr.V.R.Nagarajan, Convener of Human Rights Cell, welcomed the gathering. Mr.S.Prabhakaran, Sub Inspector of Police, K.G.Chavadi Police Station, was the Chief Guest and flagged of the Rally in the presence of Dr.M.Ilangovan, Principal.
Dr.I.Maria Yesuraja, Professor and Head, Department of Social Work, coordinated the programme. NSS Programme Officers, Mr. A. Bellaro John Regan, Mr.B.Rameshkumar and Mr.V.Pratheep Kumar, participated in the programme. More than 150 students participated in this Awareness Rally.

Awareness Programme and Observation of Social Behavior

The Association of PG and Research Department of Commerce organized Awareness Programme on 04th December 2018” .which was presided by Dr.M.Ilangovan Principal, SNGC. The Guest Ms.Preksha R Doshi Asst.prof and HOD i/c Department of Psychology, SNGC had delivered the lecture on “Observation of Social Behavior” The Head of the Department Dr.R.SathyaDevi, Association In charges Mrs.V.Vidhya and faculties of commerce department were at the time. The final year students were actively taken part and known about the current scenario in Social Behavior.

Dr.M.Ilangovan,Principal, presided over the programme. Ms.Nikhitha C.S., Asst. Professor, P.G. & Research Department of Social Work welcomed the gathering. Mr. G. Vijayaragavan, Head, Youth Leadership Programme from Shanti Ashram was the Resource Person and delivered a lecture on, “Impact of HIV & Challenges faced by Young people”. A Panel Discussion by People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) on “Social challenges faced by PLWHA” created awareness to the students. Mr. A. Bellaro John Regan, NSS Programme Officer, proposed a vote of thanks. More than 100 students participated in this programme.
